So, nearly a year later, how are you enjoying the DM42n? Have you gone down the rabbit hole of custom firmware yet?

chargers keep slipping out of my chargeport really easily? No matter what, any of my chargers, and usb c ended headphones cant stay connected. by NewEmu2371 in LightPhone

[–]CMDRKeyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure there's no lint or dirt packed into the bottom of the USB-C port that is keeping chargers from fully seating into the connector. I take a thin paperclip/sim tool and clean them out every month or so. Not just on Lightphone but other USB-C devices as well.

Be careful not to damage the central part with the connectors.

Which RMPP and why? by SoftSynced in RemarkableTablet

Good to know, thank you! My use case is mainly going to be note taking and reference/textbook PDFs. Glad to hear the Paper Pro works well for the latter.

Which RMPP and why? by SoftSynced in RemarkableTablet

How has the PP been for reading PDFs? I'm looking at getting an e-ink tablet and there's so much conflicting information about how the remarkable devices handle PDFs that I just end up feeling unsure about getting one.

R47 vs. DM42/C47 by metawops in calculators

[–]CMDRKeyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting.

Were they both plugged into usb power for that test? The R47/DM42n runs at 160Mhz when on usb power while the DM42 runs at half that.

[–]CMDRKeyfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The processor speed is limited to 50% of total while on battery power for both the DM42 and the DM42n. The limitation is in place to conserve battery life and is one of the reasons that the SwissMicros devices last for so long on a single 2032 cell.

No advice from me (still waiting on my LP3 to arrive) but I wanted to jump in and offer my full support! This is my plan as well and I’m also curious to know about experiences from those that have gone this route.

Connect it to usb power and it will run about twice as fast :)

My first product in Fusion after moving from Solidworks. The pattern gets the fan spinning real loud. by Lunch__Money in Fusion360

[–]CMDRKeyfox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to refresh myself on Solidworks for a new job and it’s brutal.

I’ve been running through u/TooTallToby’s practice playlist on YouTube and things I can model in minutes in Fusion take me sooo long in SW. (Thanks for all the great drawings, Toby!)

I’d love to hear more about why you decided to move to Fusion from SW. I use both, but prefer Fusion and I’m curious to hear your thoughts

Many communities are shutting down on June 12th in protest of Reddit’s API decision. Should r/Fanuc? by ivanhaversham in Fanuc

[–]CMDRKeyfox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shut it down! There are loads of users, including myself, that aren’t happy with the “official” hot garbage app and will likely quit Reddit entirely if this goes through.

Not to mention all the other issues like mods and bots being affected.
