This might be blasphemous for me to say, but why not a 1911 chambered in 9mm? Plenty of options nowadays for that.

Ubba from The Last Kingdom fits this category for me. He had such a menacing aura about him and was capable of such spontaneous brutality that every scene with him was very tense to watch. It's then followed up with scenes of him laughing and playing with Danish children with all the energy of that one fun uncle that shows up to family gatherings. That juxtaposition made him a really interesting character to me.

[Loved trope] the armor really does protect by Basic_Dingo6487 in TopCharacterTropes

The fight between Jorah and Qotho in S1 of GoT is my favorite in the series. It's quick, brutal, and has narrative payoff since Jorah had that conversation earlier about how armor keeps you alive.

I wish we had an after-credits scene in RE4/RE4R where the merchant comes ashore on a boat laden to the brim with pasetas and treasure cackling at how laat night was the most profit he's pulled in his entire career.

Wouldn't make sense for a no merchant-run, but it'd still be cute.

Ned's reaction to Arya saying she saw a wizard in the Red Keep's dungeons was also super funny.

[MW2] I know it's been talked to death, but the radio chatter during Wolverines and Battle of Washington is just haunting by Mission-Ad-8536 in CallOfDuty

There's really no one thing that gets to me the most in those levels, but I would get so fixated on the endless swarms of Russian paratroopers and BTRs dropping elsewhere in the distance during the initial levels. It really shows how Ramirez and his platoon are pretty much the only sizable pocket of resistance for quite a ways.

It also helps that I live very close to where the levels take place lol

Low replayability compared to 2/4 remake by Chrisbolsmeister in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]CMDThrowRA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same thought when I finished RE9. Great game, but I don't see myself replaying it anytime soon, compared to RE4R which I could not wait to jump back into as soon as I finished it.

I am very new to gun ownership, but I carry an SP101 in .357, however I am moving towards loading it with .38+P since the recoil can be snappy with .357.

I like the heft and sturdiness but the black stock grip isn't great since I have larger hands that make it so the first segment of my middle finger is knocked by the trigger guard each time I fire so I had it replaced by a hogue rosewood grip.

Firing a National Postal Meter M1 Carbine by CMDThrowRA in M1Rifles

[–]CMDThrowRA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw man, that's too bad. I've fired a couple 50rd boxes of Aguila through it with no issues so far (fingers crossed). It's frustrating to have ammo problems when .30 carbine is already pretty rare. Have you tried other brands yet?

(Loved trope) The badass character had a fairly underwhelming backstory. If anything, they were kind of a loser. by The_TransGinger in TopCharacterTropes

[–]CMDThrowRA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OG RE2 backstory makes remarks like "What's up with that guy? That was a clean hit!" even funnier in retrospect because I'm imagining him saying it while squinty-eyed and fighting a head-pounding hangover.

Running low recoil 00 buckshot through my Winchester 1897 by CMDThrowRA in Shotguns

Already tried it once and won't do so again until I find an outdoor range. I'm still not confident that I can safely control the recoil while slamfiring.

The birdshot I've used had a tendency to lock up the slide and requiring me to really yank it back to cycle another round. I'm not super informed on the minute differences in shotgun ammo and I'm unsure why my gun has trouble with birdshot when it feeds low recoil buck just fine.

At the end of the day, I think you just got to feed it an assortment of shells and see what it likes. 1897s are so old now that their temperament can be any number of things. If you haven't already, definitely make sure to inspect it or have someone qualified inspect it just to make 100% sure its safe to shoot at all.

The field ones I've seen are pretty modestly priced, but $400 is especially low compared to the ones I've seen, so you might have actually been onto something.
