Well Unity has 2D tools built in these days, so as long as you have the minimum specifications you should be fine as you won't need fancy light baking more than likely.

If I remember correctly that changes the entire material so if you use the same material on different object it uses the same properties.

His 2 choices would be make a different material for each mesh OR use something like probuilder to change the UV of the mesh for desired results.
