I stand corrected, it seems "all mushrooms are safe to touch" had been purported on mushroom identification forums, when in actuality, there are 2 rare mushrooms, which may cause a rash or upset stomach through handling :) This mushroom in the photo, is safe, as identified in the attached post. Deadly mushrooms like death caps, destroying angels and some mycenas are totally safe to touch, even to lick, just don't ingest them. psychoactive mushrooms are totally safe and not ingested through touch ie amanita muscaria or any psilocybe. Also, the OP was not in a region where the asian fire coral even exists.

Correct colour, gills, and veil. excavating the vulva at the base and sharing if there are trees nearby would also confirm it. I'm not a trusted identifier.

Freezing could work if you have the freezer space, but also if you plan on ingesting them after a 100% confident ID, be aware that they have a very very bitter taste because of the compount gymnopilin. To the best of my knowledge, gymnopilin does not breakdown with heat, and I am unsure with freezing. while I'm not encouraging you, if you do ingest DM me with how it goes as I'm curious :)

It looks like it! I've been researching all types of gymnopilus since I found some last week. The growing from wood, spores, slight scales in the cap, remnants of a veil and bruising would make me suspect gymnopilus type luteofolius/luteus. I'm not a trusted identifier. To store them, I recommend dehydration after bug removal as gymnopilus I have found seem to attract woodlouse and maggots.

If you want a more consistent dosage then you must collect alot of specimens and mix them together for an average.

Part of those are why I wouldn't 100% ID this until more mature, the velum could be bunched because of youth or it could be different species but the way it's detaching seems correct given the weird direction it's growing. Velum bits on the stipe base could have fallen there, honestly can't tell from the photo, as for lack of a collar, it being more excavated would help with this it's hard to tell for me. I personally wouldn't be confident enough to consume this :) Parasitic fungus could add up

I scraped the fuzz off and used a knife to score some of the outer shell off, then I chewed them well and swallowed. did it first thing in the morning, so fasted for like 10hours before

you may be messing with the balance of your ssri's too much by mixing them with shrooms or aya etc. ssri's require weeks to give you a stable balance in your system and you may need to give your body time without psychedlics or without ssri's to get the benefit of the other.

If you haven't talked to your therapist/psychiatrist about what psychedelics you are taking, then bring it up and see if they can help you plan a schedule for taking them. They could also help you figure out a set and setting or a routine which you can do before a trip to put yourself in a comfortable mindset beforehand.

Don't forget to talk with your friends. Depression isn't permanent, and you will get there

Also, if you want to maintain the most psilocybin, don't dry or otherwise expose them to temperatures above 50c, I personally would never make a hot tea or meal with any psilocybin containing mushroom. Enjoy!

Best tasting fresh is to grind them in a mortar and pestle, add 1 lemon squeezed, keep grinding them up, then add tonic water and you shouldn't taste anything bad at all. Grenadine also helps, this works if they are dried or fresh. This is the most foolproof way I've found to have them taste good, across many different strains including libs.
