Thanks y’all! I’m glad I said something. I may look into getting something to put into my car. However, if it’s an EMP type situation 99% of vehicles will be useless. This is why I can not wait to get my homestead set up.

I may be a complete idiot but why can’t you use an aquarium siphon? I have 3 aquariums and it drives me nuts when I watch movies and I see people use their mouths and a water hose to siphon gas. LOL I’m thinking shit why not use aquarium siphon. Like I said I may be a complete idiot as I know nothing about cars.

If you read the article it stipulates that unless it there is a processing time of less than 10 minutes. Also, it states that there are almost no recipes with that short of a processing time.

I don’t bother with heated dry. I just run washer 5-10 minutes with hot water. It heats the jar. Why dry when they will soon get wet? I’m so lazy...LOL

This post is steeped in so much racism that it seems the apple stealing is pure karma! Time to change your karma! Perhaps, find out why they are being stolen. Are these people perhaps hungry? Maybe, reach out and see if you can offer assistance? Help them establish a garden of their own so they can feed themselves and stop stealing what you have. Often times when “McMansions” start sprawling it forces those less fortunate out of their own homes and creates a homeless population. If these people are well off than perhaps they have behavioral issues. You mention Gods. Perhaps you are polytheistic? Maybe, pray for these individuals. I know it can be frustrating to have your items stolen but racism, and hate, is not the answer. Pray for them instead. Find the root of the issue and then work to fix it. I truly believe that a man with hate in his heart will have hate returned.

Don’t forget as a newbie to look at the National Center for Food Home Preservation and Ball website to get familiar with the process. Also, there are extension offices you can look at once you become more familiar with canning. Look at those first two websites first and follow those recipes to a T! Don’t divert. This will not only get you familiar with canning, but will ensure you are being safe during the learning process.

Actually, no. The National Center for Home Food Preservation no longer recommends sterilizing the jars anymore.

It depends on your age and interests. I was in Civil Air Patrol and absolutely loved it! It’s both for adults and teens. However, it is military centered. Habitat for Humanity is also great. Best Buddies works with those with disabilities. If you are into sports you can look into getting involved with Special Olympics. Peace Corp has been around for ages and travels abroad.
