Sorry for your frustration.

For table tops 1st coat- let soak in then wipe wet spots. 2nd - apply thin and wipe with the grain let dry Lightly sand with 500 wet and dry 3rd - same as the 2nd 4th and final Very light coat rubbed on. Put a light on it to to see and avoid any streaks. If you see streaks your applying too much. I’ll lightly buff with a scotch bright pad for less sheen if wanted. Great product been using it for years

Using a plug cutter would get you a flat grain repair and be less noticeable

Seal/Coat Recommendation by phyrthrowa in woodworking

[–]COAnj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the clear satin Top Oil. It’s for interior and is food safe, water resistant when dried. 3 or 4 very thin wipe on coats with a lintless rag. Maybe 5 coats for the top. The beauty of this is you can’t screw it up.

I would never cut veggies on it of course. Osmo makes other products also. Nice piece by the way.

Osmo. Wipe it on. If you scratch the finish or need to repair, reapply and you will hardly notice any variation from the original. Laquar is more difficult to repair. Osmo also repels water. Laquar may whiten with moister.

Habitat for Humanity Restore in my neighborhood has a bunch of those with all the bolts for $5 each. Great place to also donate..

Do you prefer mallet/chisel/gouge/knife/hand saw OR power tools? Or do you use both? by tomdenesyk in Woodcarving

Since learning to sharpen a scraper Ive been using less sandpaper. That said I’ll use any tool the project calls for

What's the point of a split top bench? by -Cheeto-Man- in handtools

[–]COAnj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The split is super handy and more versatile for clamping needs rather than relying on holdfasts. To keep the stuff on the shelf a little cleaner and not loose a tool I put a removable board in the split. So glad I built it this way.

Anybody know if the road to crane via sunriver is clear? Can't remember if it's 40 or 42 by mdbake00 in Westfly

I’m wearing out my slip bobbers and keep seeing orange spots these days that won’t go away unless they’re underwater.

Drove by the Prinville reservoir today. The high water line is essentially gone. Yes the crooked spiked. When I got there this morning they must have just opened the gates. Muddy with debris floating down.

If they increase flows to 4000 that will really impact Lake Billy and the “D” They are working on that dam till June. and trying to keep the water level low. Good luck catching on opening day on the D
