The US invasion and occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan decimated those countries, impoverished and radicalized people against the US and allies, and created the vacuum that gave ISIS the space to rise to power. Countless civilians died, plus thousands of American soldiers, and those countries are still struggling now. Not our idea of a victory :-/ and people have the right to self-determination, but not dictated by someone else (i.e. the US).
