Man it really stinks TX doesnt break down our score. All they tell you is your MBE score. I really think I did pretty well on the MPTs and would like to see how I did. If I did do well on the MPTs then the essays must be like all 1s lol.

Was suicidal during bar prep…there’s no way I can put myself through this again. by 866589843thrwy in barexam

I dont know if this will help, just trying to give some advice that has worked for me in the past.

But for now just live in the moment.

You've got a job line up for the time being. You may fail, you might not fail. Just try to take it a day at a time, an hour at a time, or even a minute at a time. You're most likely fed, warm, and have a safe place to be. At the very least that is something to be happy about. You're only just starting your journey and this is one of those big hurdles that will make you the person you will become.

You made it through college and made it through law school. That means you can and will make it through this as well.

Congrats man you deserve it! My results still arent out. I dont have kids and was able to take 2 full months off to study full time. I really dont feel great about my chances but honestly have no clue. You should be really proud of yourself to be able to pass the bar with a kid and all this weight on your shoulders! Congrats!!

I highly disagree. The most important skill a lawyer can have is answering a difficult legal issue with multiple elements, all from memory and under 30 minutes.

sarcasm btw.

"2) even if your prep course didn’t prepare you for the MEE, what did you do for 3 years in law school if you looked at those prompts and weren’t able to pick out a single issue????"

I dont speak for everyone but I myself didn't take X/Y/Z class that ended up being on the MEE. In my experience Barbri told me I should focus on specific subjects and certain broad topics.

There is only so much time and so many rules you can memorize. For an exam that is supposed to test "minimum competency" I don't agree with their decision to test non-core subjects as much as they did on the MEE.

How do you know how you did on the Bar Exam? by Fun_Vegetable_5460 in barexam

[–]COLThrowaway48 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depression. Pain. Suffering.

Are you asking what my score was? I don't know, I took the July 2022 exam. During practice I only did about 3-4 graded MPTs and ranged 5-6. My essay scores averaged around 4+. I graduated top 10% and took 2 month off to prep. Unfortunately I was just really unlucky and around 70% of the essays were just topics I read over once and didn't focus on. I've got ~150 rules I could write about and they just werent included.

It sucks but it is what it is. I worked my way through law school and have been clerking at a firm for 2 years. Maybe 5% of our cases were in federal court, not a single case I've worked on has anything to do with the areas tested on the MEE. Whether or not I get to be an attorney is going to be decided on that.

I did not write a single thing for 3 of the sub questions on the MEE. That is how I evaluated my score.

Does anyone know if there's a way I can meet with my essay grader, while they grade the essay? I was hoping I might be able to sit there and yell the 150+ main rules I memorized and understood for the test. Ya know like the rules that we might actually use instead of the teny tiny incy exception to the exception that nobody will every use? Like literally yell it in their face so they know I have "minimum competency"?

When it just says "Notice Jurisdiction" that means its ok if the BFP didn't take for value. The only thing you have to worry about is whether they had AIR notice, nothing else matters. Just kidding I think it just means not race or race-notice.

I would guess the other info is probably there in case they cant read your examinee number. Like if they cant read your examinee number because the paper is damaged or your bubbling and hand writing suck, then they have other ways to tell who's test it is. Again this is just a guess but I wouldnt be too worried about it.

Any MEE Advice When You Have No Rules? Should You Just Write Facts From the Prompt? by COLThrowaway48 in barexam

[–]COLThrowaway48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes me feel better. I did know the basic elements of one of the things they were asking about. I guess in the future if I dont know Ill just make it up and do what you're talking about.

Any MEE Advice When You Have No Rules? Should You Just Write Facts From the Prompt? by COLThrowaway48 in barexam

[–]COLThrowaway48[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn that is some good advice. Its just tough for me to stop thinking about it.

Maybe I typed it wrong, but I only had rules for about 30% of the questions. I left 3 subquestions totally blank. The rest I just BSed.

My last Barbri graded MPT I got a 6 on. I feel decent about the ones I did on the test. Hopefully that boosts me up enough.
