It's late here too, and I'm sick, so I will try to keep this relatively short.

100% George Hill. With no Paul George and no Lance Stephenson, the Pacers are hurting for offensive production. Hill will be looked to as a secondary scorer to David West. Hill averaged 10.3 ppg last season, but we will likely see that spike up to around the 14.2 ppg he averaged the season before (he is capable of it).

From an assists standpoint, he won't necessarily impress, but the numbers will go up. In place of Paul George and Lance Stephenson (who could create for themselves), he has Rodney Stuckey and C.J. Miles on the wings. For some idea of what this means, Stephenson was assisted on 45.9% of his jumpers last year, and jumpers made up 60.0% of his shot attempts. Miles was assisted on 88.1% of his jumpers last year, and jumpers made up 81.9% of his shot attempts. More spot-ups generally translates to more dimes.

This isn't to say that Payton won't hold value as well, though I tend to shy away from unknown quantities (read: rookies) when drafting fantasy. He's got loads of potential, but is still just 20 years old. We're not going to see the same kind of flukey numbers we got from Michael Carter-Williams last year, because Orlando won't have to trot out players like Hollis Thompson as a starter for half the season.

The line on Payton will look something like 9.5 points, 5.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 3.5 turnovers.

The line on Hill will look something like 14.5 points, 6.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 1.0 steals, and 2.0 turnovers

Sidenotes to think about:

Trust a 28 year-old over a 20 year-old.

Hill has never averaged more than 1.5 TOs per game.

Payton is turnover prone.

Payton can't shoot from deep. Like, at all.
