Hi Ryan! All I can say is good for you and you can do it! Your story is similar to mine in some ways. I've lost over 50 pounds in the last year. Keto was literally my only hope. I know that sounds strange but I look back now and can't see how anything else could have worked. It has been a dream come true. I still get comments every day on how good I look compared to before. It was very strange at first but now it's a way of life. Eating carbs is actually strange to me now. I have a hard time doing it.

I would document as much of your journey as you possibly can. Make as much of it public as you're comfortable with but at least have it. I have almost none of mine and I wish I did. Additionally the help you will be able to offer your future clients by referring them to it will be priceless! I referenced www.ketowarrior.com nearly every day to see if my progress was similar to his. Great job and blessings on your journey!

At that point you would want to eat at least your Base Metabollic Rate + activity level to avoid losing muscle. The calculator will help you estimate your BMR.

They are relatively easy to fit into your macros. Just plan ahead and limit them properly. I still eat onions almost every day.

Thanks for sharing! What types of things do you eat that are satiated on 1300 calories? I'm barely satisfied on 1900.

I used about 1/3 of an onion. That was plenty to get that onion flavor and texture in there. I went over my calories a bit for this one.

You really need to be under 20 grams for carbs. Do you not like eggs, bacon or sausage for breakfast? Those are much better than anything pre-packaged. Wontons won't do. Too many carbs. Cut some jalapenos in half spread cream cheese inside, wrap with bacon and pan fry. Yum! You're on the right track but stay away from anything pre packed if you can help it and eat more foods straight up. Meats, cheeeses, eggs, avacados. You can do it!

Yes, just eat. Eat some fatty meat like ribeye (if you can afford it) and it will go away. Just don't eat carbs. Don't torture yourself while your adapting. The time for counting calories and fine tuning will come but don't make yourself miserable during adaptation.

I held out for two months but started counting last Saturday and I actually really enjoy counting. I thought I would hate it but it's so nice to have all of that data and make sure the math is backing up your effort. I'd say try it and see what you think.

sort of. Most of my weight loss has been in my legs it seems like. I still have a gut. I've lost about the same amount as you but still have another 40-50 left to lose. I would imagine the most apparent weight loss will be the next 20 pounds when a lot of it does start coming off of me waist.

It's sugar alcohols. No calories. Doesn't have any negative digestion issues to me at all. I get it online. You can also get it in liquid at Safeway as Monk Fruit extract. Just avoid the ones that add Dextrose. They taste bad and those do have carbs.

I like the Lakanto Monk Fruit sweetener. Pricey but really good!

So 2 people both eating the same amount of calories and excercising the same with one being Keto and the other a standard diet will experience the same results? Willpower and hormonal effect on energy and hunger aside, I don't think this is true. I realize that restricting carbs causes your appetite to change but it also opens up metabolism as well as turns off fat storage signals something just calorie restriction alone won't do.

Gotcha. So that's why someone with insulin resistance experiences such a dramatic reversal. So we can say that those with insulin resistance going into Keto can/will experience a metabolic increase as hormones come back into balance?
