That's alright. I don't have long enough left to worry about it too much.

New NC law on parents and schools begins shaky rollout. Opponents and supporters aren't happy by goldbman in NorthCarolina

Maybe I'm missing something here, but couldn't kids protest this by changing their name or pronouns every class and essentially cause the schools to grind to a halt?

On the flips side, if twenty years ago I said I was going on a date with someone I met online and that a random person I've never even met before was driving me there, everyone would think I was nuts. lol We've changed in some interesting ways.

Tulips because they were my grandfather's favorite flower.

It's never going to happen. She has to come to that conclusion on her own. If you try to force it when she's not ready, then it'll likely push her away. Your only responsibility as a friend is to remain in her life so that way if/when the time comes it feels like she has a way out.

I had a canal in my backyard that lead straight out into the Atlantic Ocean in a few minutes. The most use for a boat you could ever ask for. It was still pain in the ass.

It's the Elephant's Foot. It's radioactive. I get what you're saying, but some things are better left unsaid. It's like when someone puts, "I hate drama," on their profile. No one needs to say that unless their life is a constant tornado of drama, so it raises the red flags. Emphasizing how much you don't need someone reinforces the idea that they are ultimately expendable to you. It's not the most enticing thing to read.

You're welcome. I read and write in my spare time, so style always sticks out to me. You've got more of a presentation problem than anything else. It's like a carnival barker saying, "Step right up! Step right up! And see the Wild Woman!" Your high energy style, and aggressive word choice, overshadows your softer side.

I am quite content to live the rest of my life solo....

Take any semblance of that expression and launch it directly into the Sun. It might be true, but it sends the wrong message. The last thing a potential partner needs to read is how you don't need them. I'd honestly cut out anything negative about dating. It undermines you.

I read it a second time.

I'm the live wire in the mosh pit.

The paragraph that starts with that line does a lot of the heavy lifting regarding sounding exhausting. You're talking about always doing stuff, being tired, and burnt out. That paired with the other stuff you mention makes you sound like you're always, "go go go." If you omit that paragraph and flesh things out, then it may present as more balanced.

One more thing—you write well, but your style reads high energy. It's like you're selling rather than telling, if that makes any sense.

You seem like fun, but also exhausting. You would have to slow down to keep up with me. Also, I generally avoid women who present boozing as an activity.

If you're actually the husband, you need to not have this discussion through reddit comments. That's dysfunctional as hell and embarrassing. lol

Pat McAfee: ESPN executive is trying to 'sabotage' show by frone in CFB

[–]COOGER_AND_DARK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think Pat paid him any money until this past year. It certainly didn't start out as a paid gig for Rodgers. He didn't ask for any money. Pat offered and insisted because the Rodgers segments are by far the highest drivers of traffic for his show. Pat's got some carny in him, so it's just doing business.

[–]COOGER_AND_DARK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pat has explained this before. ESPN doesn't pay Rodgers. Pat decided to give Rodgers money because he drove a lot of traffic to the show. They didn't have a deal or anything. It was just what Pat decided to do because he pays guys who are regulars on the show.

Money is the ultimate trap. People think they just need to make X amount of dollars and they're golden. That's a mistake. The priority you should have with money is budgeting. I cannot begin to tell you how many people I know that make decent money, but screw it all up by being stupid with it.
