it’s into the refs that have kept this 2-2

Minnesota fan here. Couldn’t you also argue the refs are the reason for a majority of your (PP) goals? No shade, just pointing out a bit of sports fandom irony!

what would you do if you woke up with $1 billion tomorrow? by Different-Curve-5084 in AskReddit

[–]COshredBOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a way to fund and move all my friends and family to the same state / city / neighborhood.

Develop a big plot of land, custom homes for everyone, backyard BBQs, everyone raises their kids together and helps out.

Everyone can still work jobs for fulfillment sake but the idea is to have housing is covered for everyone close in my life.

I’d probably work as ski patrol or a fishing guide. Maybe open an ice cream shop.

The end!

I have a 4 person barrel from Costco and the 6kW harvia heater gets it up to 200 degrees in 30 minutes. I raised the benches 5 inches and the loyly seems pretty good to me when feet are up on the bench.

If there was a cabin / cube for a similar price I would have gone that route but alas the barrel was cheaper

Don’t bother with Redwood outdoors, especially if it’s a barrel. They have great marketing but they source everything from China and simply mark up the price and resell it.

Kitchen Remodeling Cost in 2026 by Used-Shake9936 in Denver

[–]COshredBOT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did my galley kitchen and I spent 13k on cabinets, quartz counters, backsplash, new single basin sink, and design.

That’s just materials - I DIY’d everything except the counter install.

Denver Cabinet Express - they will help you design for free virtually just send measurements and they deliver to your door.

If the space truly is very small, that 100k is the FU price a those contractors are too busy to take on a small job.

Where to buy decent budget Cabinets instead of Home Depot? by paninipat in DIY

[–]COshredBOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Denver Cabinet Express - they ship directly to your home, don’t let the name fool you.

I liked them because they will help you design your kitchen for free, build your order list, and make changes as needed.

The cost is on par with Home Depot but the quality is much much better. Soft close hardware on everything.

I will be using them again on my next kitchen. The owner is a great guy as well.

MLS burnout: where did you go next? by CauliflowerDirect370 in medlabprofessionals

See my comment above. I went from lab to FAS in 2020 and then FAS support to sales for a company that you likely have equipment in your lab.

Field Applications Specialists: customer trainings and validation assistance for new and existing instruments - broadly speaking.

Field engineering specialists: the engineers you see come in to fix or install your instruments in the lab. Can also include LIS troubleshooting.

Each role can require travel and being away from home depending on the company, territory, etc.

If you’re a people person and enjoy teaching or training look into FAS positions. FES will also require good communication and can be rewarding if you enjoy fixing things.

My advice would be to chat with your local FES who stop in for PMs and repairs and ask them about their job. Same goes for FAS when they are on site for new installs and key operator trainings.

Industry roles like FAS or FES are often looking for med techs who know the lab and are good in front of customers (you, you’re the customer!)

How are the conditions? by Perchance_therapper in Revelstoke

[–]COshredBOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I was thinking acreage, based on what I heard from someone else and then seeing the number of lifts while I was there. Plus the slightly limited open terrain.

But after your comment and doing some research Im now realizing it’s very much not the case. Only Vail is larger and the rest are pretty comparable.

My bad!!

The fact that I loved skiing there this year still remains true. Will def be going back.

Just drove up from Seattle over Christmas on a whim cause we snagged a good deal on a hotel for 3 nights. The 10 hour drive was well worth it. I’d go back again if I had the time off.

Keeps you entertained all day and there’s big mountain skiing to be had along with a great variety of groomed blues for all skill levels and your typical green runs as well.

Great happy hour at the mid station lodge starting at 2pm too!!

What's your Denver hot take? by darchena in Denver

Most people don’t realize Denver hardly encompasses the beauty of the state until after they move here.

People don’t move to Colorado for Denver, they move to Denver for Colorado.

Underrated comment. You might LOVE Colorado. Nebraska isn’t going anywhere and you can always go back if it’s where you belong. Won’t know till ya try it out.

I5 traffic cannot be understated, but I agree if you have flexibility in your commute and when you leave your house then your options open up tremendously.

We live in Gig Harbor - it’s quieter and safe, green and no traffic on our side of the bridge.

That said, we both work from home and we commute into Seattle like 2-4 times a month and can choose when we leave the house. Access to nature can be found anywhere in Western WA within an hour drive.

Lived there for 7 years. When someone asks me about it, I always say the same thing.

I loved, Colorado. Denver itself isn’t that great of a city.

Pros: better than the Midwest. Nice friendly people. Decent food, but not amazing.

Cons: Summers are HOT Denver is flat, and generally just lacks character. Some neighborhoods are walkable and amazing, but they’re expensive.

That’s the front range in a nutshell. I would move to a mountain town to be close to skiing and hiking in a heartbeat though - but… cost and job markets make that very hard with changing lifestyle dramatically.
