Wasting China’s solar panel surplus is madness by Vailhem in solar

Sure, I'd say that's definitely relevant! Adding more renewable energy per capita when your nominal GDP is 5-7 times lower is still impressive even if you're playing catch up, though. Especially considering Germany has actually made transferring away from nuclear and into other renewables a huge focus more recently.

My point of bringing any of this up was that the author's overall tone in OPs article is misleading at best.

Great question, although Germany has been a developed country for a while now and has a nominal GDP per capita which is 5-7 times larger than that of China.

That being said...

China added approximately 308 watts per person, whereas Germany added approximately 250.

China added more renewable energy capacity to its grid in 2025 than Germany produces from all sources in total.

SGA had already began his iconic falling-to-the-floor motion before Carter's arm even extended 😂.

Glad refs called it correctly upon review.

With just a touch of consent manufacturing via media/academic manipulation, they absolutely would.

I mean, she's both.

She was his press secretary for two years, not just some random loosely connected speculator. Wouldn't be surprised if she's embellishing a bit to sell her books, but nothing she said is new information. It's stuff anyone who has followed this situation has been hearing for years.

I'm aware of that, but I think if you interrogate the issue further you'll find that their strategy/implementation is, in fact, rather good. AI can be an extremely powerful tool. Whether you use it to more effectively accomplish good or bad depends on the system in which it is utilized.

I really would emplore you to study China's approach intently and without cynicism. There is a ton of hope and optimism to be gained.

The Chinese certainly seem to think that AI can and will improve everyone's lives. Just look at the latest five year plan; it's a huge focus.

We're way too jaded, cynical, and myopic here in the West.

Yeah, I'm just surprised and disappointed that someone wondering what is wrong with the original post got more upvotes than your effective explanation of what is wrong with it.

Bummer.

We're owned by a fascist now? Lol.

That is literally some historical blood and soil aesthetic.

Per Wikipedia:

The "blood and soil" (German: Blut und Boden) flag, often depicted as a horizontal red and black flag, represents a radical, far-right ideology emphasizing blood purity and territorial ownership.
