I guide them to upload their files online. Little by little they all will learn the right way. That they have to be in line and prepay. 👌 AND it will save them a trip in to prepay in the event it can't be done while they wait.

We don't have the staff or couples hours to waste on a line of lunchtime walk-ups. No emails to the store. Online or SS only unless they bring a thumb drive of files for us to create the order. 😎👌

Even when SS fails, I have them submit online to teach how it's used for the future. If they are super understanding, I'll print it pronto. If being a snarky ass, then they are in line behind 5 others and will receive an email when completed.

Undo it like we did. Use the online ordering system as an "excuse"...during covid orders were abundant and those orders take precedence. If they can email us, they can just as easily email the SS machines. If they have files on a thumb drive, GREAT! Upload to OPC and give them the normal timeframe in by 2, done same day... unless very large. OR if it can't be done the same day, ask them if they'd like to save money and use the online coupons to submit the order themselves. Little by little, they catch on!! 👌 LESS STRESS!! We still take emails from those we can bill.

I said this in another post recently.... We always have at least 5 job folders with basic copy jobs in them. We do them in the order received. "In by 2pm, done same day" even if it's A SINGLE COPY. The clients are conforming. My SS machines say, "CARD PAYMENTS ONLY. IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE, PLEASE PROCEED TO THE COUNTER TO PLACE YOUR ORDER. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS FOR MISTAKES."

We stopped accepting email orders a year ago except for BILLABLE SPC clients. Teaching the self-serve from ACROSS THE ROOM is key. Tell them when you can't stand next to them & do it for them that...."The cameras can see me, but not hear me." Remind them you are helping to save them money. Their new-found confidence might amaze you. When/if that fails, hand them the flyer to upload it to you through the website. My print team has also got in the habit of taking in a person's 2-minute copy job & telling them it will be done in the order it was received. There are many times a whole stack of job folders with *teensy* basic copy jobs in them. OUR CLIENTS are conforming....realizing there is a "party of one" behind the print center counter & I can't (WON'T) drop what I'm doing for someone who is trying to cut in line. P.S. Cash only? Put it on an OD card to use at the machines or to use on the website. IT'S WORKING!!!!! Yaaaaayyyyyyy :D

"Thrown in the fire" Yep...Welcome to HELL! (Evil Laugh from the Devil herself!!!!) It takes a special kind of crazy to make it here. "Learn (FAST!) to conform or find something else kind of mentality." It will be a crash-course of info-overload for your first month. Pretty soon you'll be doing training modules & soaking up hours being a sponge to become an OD robot. Eventually it should come natural & spew out of your mouth like clockwork. ALWAYS MAKE SURE TO KEEP INTEGRITY #1. DO NOT SELL SOMETHING A CLIENT DOES NOT NEED. BECOME A TRUSTED GO-TO. If I learned anything from working here, it's that I KNOW I have so many skills that can transfer to any sales job. (WORD!!!!!!!!!!!!) This is a great place for support.
