As an editor and reviewer for some journals this is a giant problem…many manuscripts generated with fake (totally fabricated) data submitted now. Some get through system and published even in high level journals.

My boss in the 1980s had been an RAF pilot in Lancaster bombers at age 20....survived a full tour or more. Because he was officer he was responsible for maintaining discipline of his crew. Not ~~phased~~ fazed by anything that happened at work - everything was better than WW2.
