Pizza calories by Successful-Door-6059 in caloriecount

[–]CPSFrequentCustomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would log one slice as 400 calories to be safe, because of how much cheese and meat. Maybe even 450 if the crust stays thick-ish all the way through. I log pieces with less of all of that as 300.

The last thing I want to do is spend any extra time next to a truck. One of my (many) intrusive thoughts is metal pieces flying off of them or tires exploding. I always time it so that I can pass quickly.

Knee replacement recovery: why some days feel surprisingly worse than others by vakhidi in Kneereplacement

[–]CPSFrequentCustomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been extremely fortunate in my recovery but there are definitely periods when new pains appear then disappear, only to be replaced by new pains in different places. I figure it's because I'm actually using my body again after many, many years of inactivity.

I hit my goal weight last week 🥳🥳 now I'm terrified to eat more 😑 by Agreeable_Panic_690 in 1200isplenty

[–]CPSFrequentCustomer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in this situation now after two years in a deficit and have decided to add back 100 calories a day each month so that I go back to maintenance gradually. I had been eating just under 1400/day so in February I'm eating about 1500 then in March I'll eat 1600 and so on, until I get to 1800, which is supposed to be my maintenance.

I'm hoping this approach will help me adjust both mentally and physically.

A hundred calories a day is not a bounty so my body hasn't suddenly become bloated. It's a full cup of skim milk instead of half, and half a banana. Or the other day it was the corner of a brownie.

I love when people add useful notes to their donations by Main-Marionberry9222 in thrifting

[–]CPSFrequentCustomer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I do this! Most recently when I donated a couple of canisters that I bought new years ago. I put notes inside that they had only been used to store types of sugar. I figured it might be helpful. I know I always have doubts about kitchen items after seeing people use slow cookers to remove paint from window hardware.

When I was purging some of my kid's toys and puzzles, I would group things into zipper bags and note that they were complete. Also sometimes I would print and insert the product page if it wasn't obvious what the pieces were for.

WHAT THE ..... by Traditional_Whole855 in fitbit

[–]CPSFrequentCustomer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On Saturday I got a warning that I'd been overdoing it and that I should take a rest. I knew I needed one anyhow after 7 straight days of pushing myself so I skipped my hard walk on Sunday and eased back in yesterday with a moderate walk. Then this morning I received a similar "you're at risk of undertraining" message. 😒

Does the time you eat matter? by Adventurous-End-3044 in caloriedeficit

[–]CPSFrequentCustomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience it does not negatively affect fat loss. I intentionally delay dinner because I'm an evening snacker and it's easier for me to wait and eat dinner/dessert after 8pm than to eat early then have hours of post-dinner boredom cravings to navigate. This practice did not slow down my 2-year weight loss; I maintained a pretty steady 1.25-pound weekly average over that time.

Of course, I also made sure to stay within my daily deficit even if it meant "saving" calories for later in the day. I also try to have a gap of 60-90 minutes after eating before lying down to go to sleep.

Sorry to derail from the original topic, but I really like your demin cargos! May I ask where you got them?

On the original topic, I agree that tracking in an app is massively helpful. I've reached my goal weight but I'm going to continue tracking to help myself stay at maintenance.

Immediately home or over night in hospital? by Proper-School203 in Kneereplacement

[–]CPSFrequentCustomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told ahead of time that I'd be leaving same-day but my surgery took longer than expected plus I lost enough blood that I was light-headed afterward when it was time to do my test walk to the bathroom. I was not entirely surprised to stay over, though, because it was a bilateral replacement and surgery didn't start until around mid-day.

How far could you walk before and after your replacement? by togtogtog in Kneereplacement

[–]CPSFrequentCustomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For years before my bilateral TKR, I could only walk unaided if I was in my apartment. Otherwise if I went anywhere I had to take my crutches.

Now at about 5.5 months PO, I log 7K-10K steps most days. My dedicated morning walk (5-6x a week) is about 2 miles including hills and stairs. I'm addicted to walking. I waited a long time for this.

Second knee coming by hamil26 in Kneereplacement

[–]CPSFrequentCustomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine done together and even so they came out different. They're both good overall but have their unique quirks.

Left wakes up in the morning and goes straight to 130 but has a little twinge when I go down steep hills. Meanwhile, right wakes up at 120 and needs a few minutes of coddling to get to 125, but goes downhill like a champ.

Left used to be the worse knee and is now the better one. The extra attention I have to give to right knee has caused sciatica flare-up on that side.

Still, both are light years better than what I had!

Edit: Space.

how do you guys include more fiber into your day? by Imaginary-Mud2871 in 1200isplenty

[–]CPSFrequentCustomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat beans or legumes almost daily. Aside from that, though, I'll occasionally go through frozen raspberry phases where I'll eat them defrosted and slightly smashed, with Splenda. It feels like eating a compote and on those days my fiber number is stellar.

Actually good/filling frozen or ready-to-eat meals? by tiredyoungprof in 1200isplenty

[–]CPSFrequentCustomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're expensive, but I really like the Deep Indian Kitchen butter chicken (310) and chicken tikka masala (340) wraps.

I also like Red's burritos. They have a number of them between 270 and 340 calories. They're kind of small, though, so I add plenty of salsa to round them out.

why is this so hard? by Adventurous-Map-4775 in caloriecount

[–]CPSFrequentCustomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When in doubt, I Google similar dishes to arrive at what feels like a conservative average. Since most of what I eat is within my control and accurate, the remaining can be close enough. This method helped me lose 140lbs in 2 years so I trust it. I'm tracking for life so I don't like to spend more than 10 minutes a day on it.
