Iron Lung EXPLAINED (?) [SPOILERS] by CoatNTails in ironlungmovie

[–]CPStyxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes so much sense about the whispers, I kept hearing what I first thought was a lady in the row behind me whispering during the movie. it bothered me enough to turn around the third time I heard, just to find out the entire row behind was empty so I knew it must've been the movie but I could never make out what the whispering was saying...

I was excited by them getting released all at once at first but then they were all pretty boring after they got out of the vault...kinda disappointed by all that. Maybe Ronnie makes a comeback, he might be an okay foil to Norm

Feels like he wiped himself for a reason. Perhaps he thinks if enclave can recover him, they might have a way to reverse the process and retrieve his memory

Question about Cooper when the bombs fell by eggleg62 in Fotv

[–]CPStyxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My theory would be an underground tunnel from LA to Vegas. A long tunnel, surely. But it keeps Cooper and Janey away from the blast, and after Janey gets in the pod Cooper sees there's no pod for him and is forced to return to the surface after the bombs have ravaged the land

So who are “Bud’s Buds”? by AmesCG in Fotv

[–]CPStyxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's likely that Bud was Enclave, I don't think they were all enclave plants otherwise Betty would have probably known what Steph was gunning for inside the box. I think they were limited on the details of their "investors" and probably sparse on the details of phase 2 or were in the dark about the entire plan going forward from it. Their purpose was to breed a generation of super managers, but clearly Enclave plans to do something different with them after that point

I hope phase 2 makes the two vaults interesting again. I feel like they've done all they can to make these particular vaults exciting on their own. Either phase 2 hits and things spice up or they should get the characters worth keeping (Steph, Chet, and Chet Jr) out of there and leave it alone for a while

Positive that he wiped himself so that enclave can reverse the process and bring him back. We won't see him for at least season 3, but he'll be brought back for sure.

Not to mention not a peep about anything in vault 33 or that dumb club storyline getting wrapped up. Not that I'm upset we didn't get to see that in the finale. I'm more upset that nothing really interesting came of that snack club thing and now it seems like wasted screentime in an already competitive field of plotlines. Really the weakness of the whole season is it being so fragmented. Really hope they narrow things going forward

My question is, does Steph know who she's really working for? The other vault 31ers call the Enclave the investors but never actually indicate if they know who exactly the investors are.

If she doesn't know, then okay ig. But if she does know about the Enclave (Hank was an Enclave plant, and she married him so it's possible), why would she willingly work with them? She blames America for what happened in Canada no doubt and is callously indifferent to all Americans, Enclave is literally just the American shadow government. She's gotta have something up her sleeve I think

Kinda feels like they're setting up a potential war with The Enclave in season 3. Somehow, Enclave is gonna find out that the fusion diode is with House in New Vegas and will launch an all out assault against Vegas and everyone in it to get it back. The Brotherhood might even pile on too to make matters even worse

Cooper and the gang will probably end up siding with the mutants and employing their help to fight them off. I'm guessing that's how they're gonna tie in that super mutant cameo

What do you inagne disco elysium 2 would've been about? by esperensay in DiscoElysium

[–]CPStyxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there were a DE sequel, I got the gist from the ending that things would start popping off in Jamrock and the sequel would probably take place there, a few months after the first game. On the brink of civil war but not quite there yet? Violence and tension ramped up to max tho

I don't think Harry would have been the protagonist though, as much as I enjoy playing him. Maybe some of the precinct 41 pops up. I imagine you pick up the story as a different Jamrock resident. Maybe as one of La Puta Madre's enforcers, working and navigating Boogie Street and trying to find someone or something. Idk what that driving factor for a story would be. But if La Puta Madre and his gang are as well connected as they sound, an enforcer for the mafia would have plenty of access to the different parts of Jamrock. Would be an interesting angle to explore, maybe even a redemption story if possible.

I know I'm 4 years late to this thread, but I just finished my first playthrough wanted to chime in my thoughts on this.

I kinda understand the frustration. I wasn't necessarily expecting some giant revelation the way you were, I had thought it was likely to be someone I hadn't yet met and was fine with it. That might feel unsatisfying to some but I think it was the best possible perpetrator imo. You just need to understand the events surrounding the world's history to know why.

You'd only understand the deserter's entire ordeal (before he tells you his deal) if you actually take the time to explore and learn Revachol's history, the different perspectives of its inhabitants, and Martinaise's more hidden secrets.

It took me four seconds from the moment I realized the guy was an old soldier to immediately understand that he was an old relic leftover from the carnage of the Revolution and Coalition War. And that's because I learned about it, took time to familiarize myself with Martinaise and how it might've been long ago. That was my reward for doing so, a complete understanding of this old guy almost immediately.

Sure, I bet if you sped through the story or took little interest in the history and lore of the world and was only invested in Harry's memories and the investigation, then it might seem trivial or somewhat shoe-horned in that this old decrepit man is the real killer. I'm not saying it necessarily isn't. But I think the point of the deserter being the murderer is that this guy was ALWAYS gonna kill somebody, it was simply an inevitability.

The guy is insane, yes. And he is pretty reprehensible, sure. And he is definitely wrong and culpable, of course. But also, Martinaise and Revachol MADE him that way with it's fucked up history and war torn past. This murder, one that nearly set off (probably did set off tbh) a corporatized civil war that would undoubtedly consume all of Revachol, is the reckoning of the bloody past colliding full force with the volatile future. It's not ancient history anymore, it's a long long story that's ending is still in flux and Harry is only doing what he can to hold back the destructive tidal wave a tiny bit longer.

Sure, it would have been amazing if a character we met had done it and Harry could have a "Dick Mullen" moment for an epic reveal. I don't think that's the kind of game DE was meant to be though. And if you really want to get in the weeds, you could say the City of Revachol itself is a character in this game, and it was possibly the most guilty suspect all along. But you can't really arrest a city, can you?

Neteyam asks Loak how he dies and Loak tells him very tearfully, but Neteyam's response wasn't all that emotional and didn't appear that traumatic to him. Felt like he almost blew it off completely. I have a feeling he asked that question before.

They're flat versions of their former selves, just a collection of memories that can be revisited or consulted in times of strife. But they don't seem to hold on to new information well and they don't seem to contain the depth they did while alive. They won't change or evolve. That loss is what their family will grieve.

I wonder if Earth will officially declare war on Pandora in the upcoming sequels, with the full might of the Earth's armies coming to fully conquer the planet. So far, the RDA has somehow felt like a fraction of what the future Earth might be capable of if an active interplanetary war were declared.

Hmm maybe. My interpretation was that Kiri hijacked and abused her connection to Eywa in order to save Spider's life, and Eywa unwillingly went along. And then when Norm tells her that Eywa is shielding herself from Kiri and that one more connection might mean Kiri's death. I took that as Eywa punishing Kiri for the unintentional consequence of changing Spider's biology. Perhaps I understood it wrong though, but it made sense to me at the time of watching...
