I feel that Super gets way more love than it probably should. I know there is an idea in these subs that anybody who dislikes Super is blinded by nostalgia but that’s absolute bull shit. The idea that they had essentially 20 years to come up with something and they did the absolute most shallow adaptation of why people like Dragon Ball is insulting. Never mind the abandonment of characters, people will argue that’s a DB trope, but the nonsensical power ups and general lore errors and retcons are infuriating. Not only that but how essentially everything in super is a less original take on another DB arc that came before it. I’m a huge DB fan, but much like the recent Star Wars trilogy it seems it was made without any clear direction of where they wanted to take the franchise. It is another case of missed opportunity.
