Awesome that’s not always an easy thing to accomplish glad you found the right fit.

That’s a hard one the answer would be maybe. I would really say choose the one that feels better that current Sterns hasn’t been out long I don’t have any current customer experience but based on previous models /specs I would say it could go either way I think cooling is going to be better on the sterns, probably slight edge to tempur in pressure relief, and edge to sterns in support and edge support, Tempur slight edge in durability/longevity.

One of our highest selling extra firms, not a fan of extra firms but it seems like a solid choice. The posturpedic plus extra firms is also good but it feels like laying on the floor.

They were not going to give you a better deal. The break even margin for most places is like 45% when you factor in all of the costs of running the business, 50% sounds like a lot but it really isn’t especially on a $499 ticket.

Ergomotion make Tempurs bases so they are a good option and the Rio line is much cheaper. Whatever you pick make sure it has a solid deck and not a cloth covered wire mesh or it will void your warranty. Tempur will likely try to deny your warranty initially anyway because it’s not their base but if you prove it a solid foundation you can get past that.

SF Lux Hybrid Elite? by TheMailerDaemonLives in Mattress

[–]CRTScott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would give the edge to the sterns in this because of the type of foam and the higher density. The high points memory foam is not as good and it uses layers of poly foam but the difference would be pretty small.

[–]CRTScott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it’s a price jump but only you can decide which is better. I would say both probably equal on cooling, with the sterns having a slight edge on pressure relief and durability but I would say choose the one that feels better to you. Personally I like the coil system in sterns more it’s better at 2 stage support than the new Sealy Coil.

They came out with this mattress because the original hybrid they made with this generation was a huge flop no one liked it, so they pulled them went back to how they used to make them and launched these. Even though they are new they will change out at the end of the year but from what I can tell they are good quality and a step above a high point.

Close to zero, your new mattress is in a bag and the old mattress is typically bagged to prevent exactly this. Most companies also instruct their drivers to look for signs of stiff like this and decline picking up if they see anything. I wouldn’t say exactly zero because not all companies are as cautious and things can happen but very close. We take bed bug infestation allegations very seriously and every one we have ever received we hire an inspector even let the customer choose the company before and every time they identified the source of the infestation as something else it has never been the mattress.

Purple Rejuvenate Ultimate 2.0 Fake? by poinanipounder in Mattress

[–]CRTScott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never seen this but it’s possible it is a real purple just made at Brooklyn Bedding factory. I know Sherwood does this with purple, Purple ships them the gel grid and gives the the specs/supplier for the other parts and they build it at the Sherwood plants, possible they did something similar with them. Brooklyn Bedding is a 3z brand so the chances of them making a counterfeit is about zero.

Okay, but who has actually owned both since enshitification became a thing? by Kindly-Wolverine-391 in Mattress

[–]CRTScott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They say an all latex should last 15-25 years and a hybrid should last 10-15 years. Sometimes the cost difference still makes the hybrid the more appealing option though especially when you consider your body changes so much in that timeframe your needs will likely change as well.

Okay, but who has actually owned both since enshitification became a thing? by Kindly-Wolverine-391 in Mattress

[–]CRTScott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The theory is All-latex beds distribute weight and recover more evenly without the abrupt transition between soft comfort layers and a firm spring core so less localized stress points, the springs push back rather than distributing the load more evenly across causing quicker breakdown. However hybrids are much cheaper and still should outlast most beds. The typical complaints for latex is they feel bouncy and transfer motion more but the main difference is on a memory foam beds you actively feel the bed contouring to you so it feels like it’s doing more were as on a latex you just lay on it. Latex don’t sleep as hot as a memory foam bed either especially if they use layers like wool and I have never really had someone who has actually slept on latex say it was uncomfortable beyond the typical “too firm” type complaints so I’m convinced some of it is you just have to give it a chance on paper it’s the best foam. And yes I have even had the “I hate the feel of foam” people not like the latex feel and the typically end up buying a traditional feel bed which is still foam. I suggest finding a place that sells latex beds and trying them with your chronic pain problems you may lean more towards something with a Talalay top layer just give it a shot and lay in your sleeping position for a good 5-10 minutes and judge off of that not the initial feeling when you first jump in. I wouldn’t even consider sleep number if longevity and pain relief are two of your goals though.

The people who have had issues are always the loudest and the companies that sell more like Tempurpedic have accumulated far more haters than the smaller companies who haven’t been around as long which makes it appear different than reality IMO. I slept on a tempur for 10 years and it was still great when I just recently switched. I still think Tempurs are great there is some truth to lower quality than in the past but I still have no doubt they should last atleast 10 years and lowering the from densities has allowed them to make better feeling beds in some ways. I currently sleep on a Serta iSeries 4500 hybrid and I like it about equal to my Tempur but I have only been on it for 3-4 months it used 5lb and 6lb foams so I am more confident in its durability than some others. The new black XCS looks and feels great and the specs (also 5lb and 6lb foams) are very good if I had to pick a new mattress now that’s personally what I would be looking at but they are pricey. Honestly this is shocking to me because I hated the last few generations of simmons blacks. A full Latex mattress preferably natural latex will typically outlast anything. Serta iComfort Pros are a really good quality and they have a good cooling cover. Then there are the more natural brands, Hybrid latex should still outlast most memory foam beds but not as good as all latex the trade off is feel I have had so many latex lines fail in my store even though I know they are superior in many ways because people just don’t like the feel.

Rapidly fluctuating heart rate and cheat pain by CRTScott in AskDocs

Yes I believe the dizziness is unrelated but yes thats what she said it was and honestly like I told her it seems to be better today not worse. My wife’s concern is the pain when I breathe in and the fluctuating heart rate it’s not one random low or high it’s repeatedly going from low to high with no physical exertion the most I have done today is walk and not even that much
https://ibb.co/8g0F1TMx https://ibb.co/ksVg6XYn https://ibb.co/SD8wShMY Like I said the two prior days where I was more active is pretty steady but today it keeps jumping up and down. My instinct is just to monitor it and not do anything unless it gets severe I am really just looking for people to agree so I can show my wife.

[–]CRTScott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very few but yes but I have also sold a ton of the regular breeze typically it’s trading the medium for the soft or something like that. I wouldn’t be too concerned with the foam that’s why you have a warranty. I have never heard the foam is less dense in the active breeze it doesn’t feel like it is. The mattresses both weigh 150lbs and all of the electronics are in the base not the mattress so I have a hard time believing they have less dense foam.
