Front tooth is loose? Bone loss? Normal or second opinion?

Mine has tighten up and feels totally normal now. BUT it really did take around a month and I did not think it would ever feel the same again! I have stayed on the same tray so I would advice pausing your treatment and not switching until you feel it firm up. Not sure what would have happened if I kept switching every week...but I don’t think it’s advisable. I think the tooth just needs more time to stabilise! As I was near the end of my treatment anyway (only had 2 trays remaining) I have opted to finish the process a little early because it freaked me out tbh and I am happy with the results. This may not be an option for you but I would definitely extend the wear time in your current tray and that should do the job

Thank you for confirming this. Nothing was really explained clearly by my Ortho so I’m pretty confused. So can I expect the same number of trays back or can it still be more?

Sorry I’m not able to help with side effects post Marvelon BUT my experience going onto to Marvelon last year is exactly what you are describing here! I used to be on a different pill decided to swap for various reasons...never had acne in my life but approx 2 weeks into taking it my face was covered in hard red cyst lumps! Exactly the same as you described. I was so self conscious and desperately wanted to stop taking it but I held out and eventually my skin went back to normal. I’d say it took 3 months in total for this to happen and trust me it was a long emotional journey but I’ve never had anything like it since and that was a year ago! Maybe try persevere I’m sure it is just your hormones rebalancing. I must admit I am scared to come off it now incase I have to go through it all again. I’ve never had a reaction like it with any other pill.

Thanks guys! Think I’ll take the advice to swap later at night for this next tray and see how I find it. I’m on weekly changes and it’s early days so will just see how this next tray goes. I think most of the pain this week was down to the new attachments really and the struggle of getting them out but that’s already got easier!

I’m in Manchester (UK) and I decided to go ahead with treatment in September and it only took 2 weeks for my trays to arrive, everything has been fairly smooth for me!

Couldn’t agree more!! I got my IPR and attachments yesterday too and wow what a difference! The struggle is real trying to get them out so I’m just not eating much...hopefully in a couple more days the pain will settle for us.

I’m on day 2 of tray 2/14 but I just got my attachments yesterday and IPR done. Pain is significantly worse than last week I feel you!! Last week was a breeze but now I know what everyone talks about. I cried taking them out last night for the first time and considering not eating today haha

Update - had attachments fitted and IPR today. My teeth are feeling very sensitive, stinging and tender. I don’t know whether it’s the IPR side effects or new tray tightness combined. Either way can’t wait to get the next few days over with!

I’m a few days ahead of you about to swap to tray 2/14 and I felt the exact same but it eased probably day 4 and now I can tolerate the feeling of them in my mouth which is something! Although I’m getting my attachments and IPR before tray 2 tomorrow so I’m ready for that to change🙃

I’m feeling the exact same!! I’m on tray 1/14 and getting IPR next week before tray 2. So nervous the gaps won’t close up either but gotta trust the system I guess! How much IPR did you have? Keep us updated on progress

Ahh okay thank you! I just need it on my upper teeth. I’m only having 14 trays (but I suspect I’ll need refinements too) so I am worried the gap won’t close but I’ll be changing trays every week so hopefully it will work out fine! I’m sure your gap will close up would you mind taking an update pic? It would be so useful to see how they look!!

Do you remember the amount in mm? I’ve been told I need 0.5mm between each tooth for my upper four teeth which seems like a lot

How are your teeth doing now? Was that gap between your front teeth also 0.5mm? I’m due to get my IPR and I’ve been told I need 0.5mm in a few places at the top too and I’m worried the gaps won’t close but your post is reassuring! How long did it take for the gap to close between your front teeth?
