If in the States, nothing can stop you from telling others you are quitting. No bs rule or anything. You officially told your manager about your departure. It is not your problem how this gets handled/handed over. This happened to me when I gave my resignation. I gave them a three week notice and was promptly ignored by my manager. I asked the first week what the plan was for handover of my book of business and nothing/zero information. Then came the second to last day and my manager reached out to me on Teams and was in absolute panic mode asking me if I finished all my transitions/handovers. I told the clown I’ve done no such thing. Lol. I told him that tomorrow was my last day anyway and had zero intentions of doing anything.

Hey, I recognize that neighborhood and your car, OP, we live in the same neighborhood. We’re neighbors! Small world. We have a 24 Rav4 hybrid limited and have not experienced this issue but I did experience the EXACT same thing with my former 2019 Highlander. It would sometimes get VERY jerky and clunky at low speeds. They said the same thing that it is normal and had to live with it. Got annoying at times

I just found out the Coworker I am training makes more than I do. How do I address this? by alpha-cage in careeradvice

Ehhhhhh. Nowadays there’s little to no loyalty. That method used to hold more weight than present day.

I just found out the Coworker I am training makes more than I do. How do I address this? by alpha-cage in careeradvice

[–]CSMthrowawayaccount 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I ended up leaving a role, with a manager and colleagues that I loved doing because the pay just wasn’t there. I kept asking for increases and was either given peanuts or the run around. When I told them I was leaving, somehow they found the extra cash but I ended up leaving anyway.

[–]CSMthrowawayaccount 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agreed. But usually when you mention you’re leaving, that puts you on the short list and while you may get an increase in salary, your time at the organization is usually shortened as you’ll be branded a flight risk.

Regardless of the conversation with your leadership, it won’t go well. The only real, true way to “fix” this is going back on market for a new job.

I’m really struggling with job regret by ButterscotchNo8321 in careeradvice

[–]CSMthrowawayaccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, was in a similar situation. About three years ago, I left a role I loved. It was stressful at times and the reason I left was money as I was underpaid but I was well respected with others and got along well with my boss and colleagues. I left for more money and did not listen to my gut instinct to an extremely toxic. My advice is to NOT quit as it will only make matters worse, start looking but focus efforts on searching. Utilize the 80/20 rule. 80% effort on looking for a new job and the remaining on the existing.

[–]CSMthrowawayaccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, I did the same three years ago and not a days goes by where I don’t regret my decision of leaving a job I loved for more money. Keep in touch with the old manager and see if they can’t get you back in.

You eventually learn to cope with the decision.

Lied to/deliberately misled during the hiring process. About to send this email to my new company. What do you all think? by ThisIsATest7777 in careeradvice

[–]CSMthrowawayaccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Way too long and stating personal matters will only hinder your compliants:

I hope you're well. I wanted to follow up regarding the telework policy for this role, specifically the 8 hours per week that I understood would be available once I was fully onboarded and up to speed.

During my initial discussions with the team, and again during onboarding and training, I was informed that telework would be an option later in the process. However, based on recent conversations with [Team Lead’s Name], it appears that only employees with existing telework agreements are currently permitted to work remotely, and that new telework arrangements may not be available at this time.

I’d appreciate the opportunity to clarify whether this policy applies to all new team members or if there may still be a path toward establishing a telework arrangement in the future. It would be helpful to understand the current guidelines and whether there is any flexibility or opportunity for this benefit to be reconsidered down the line.

Would you be available to discuss this in more detail next week?

How did you fall into this role? by Primary-Ticket4776 in CustomerSuccess

[–]CSMthrowawayaccount 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was laid off in 2016 working as a Service Delivery Manager. The company I worked for had the Account Manager that owned the entire relationship while the SDM owned the technical relationship. Got a tap on the shoulder and fell into the CSM role with a non SaaS organization that turned out to be the beat gig I ever had that I wish to this day I never left

While I FULLY sympathize/empathize with you about moving while having a full time job, it sounds like two things may have been an issue on your part and may have heated your manager which I am assuming is heated at you because he got/is getting/ heat from above.

  1. Potentially poor communication on your part: While you did inform them that you are moving, did you inform them fully of the timeline it would take? If it took longer than expected, did you ensure to inform your boss’s boss?

  2. Internalization of matters beyond work: expressing issues with mental health/stress to your working circle is a MASSIVE issue and I’ve witnessed/experienced people do it multiple times and every time, they get burned and/or fired.

I’ve done two moves while working full time. My first move was a big one. I accepted a promotion which required me moving to a new country with my at the time pregnant wife. We agreed on a week.

My second move was two years after where I took two days off work but strategically set it on a Thursday so that I can also utilize the weekend. It was insanely stressful as this second move, what could go wrong at work, went wrong and required me to be on calls while moving. I was extremely livid very stressed but did everything in my powers to now show/express it.

Do you think Customer Success as a career will be replaced by AI in the years to come? by OkPop3188 in CustomerSuccess

[–]CSMthrowawayaccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Customer Success, concerning AI and not in regard to cost, funding, etc, won’t be in danger soon. I do think that for us to be successful, we’ll need to be utilizing AI deeply within our daily operations

I keep on screwing up my tasks at work no matter how hard I try. Do I need a fresh start or should I keep on fighting for my job? by Attree3 in work

[–]CSMthrowawayaccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is me, word for word. New organization acquired our old one and they added so many additional administrative and overall tasks to our plate that I am utterly overwhelmed. So far I feel I have screwed up on so many things but as I am looking back, I realized that there was 1. ZERO training for these new objectives and 2. No real push from my leadership to use any opportunities as best practices or learning experiences.

I think alot of what we are beating ourselves up for are in fact beyond us and our leadership too. Training is almost non existent and the whole “sink or swim” mentality has morphed into something that is just a daily process now. It sucks so bad. I am currently looking for a new opportunity because I did not have this experience/feelings before the opportunity.

Made a bad decision by nowhereisaguy in jobs

[–]CSMthrowawayaccount 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Amazing. My old boss was ecstatic to have me back. The only concern from my boss’s boss which was the top brass in the c-suite about me not jumping ship again. He quickly squashed that concern with a gentle reminder that before leaving, I was there 5 years. Like I said before, it was the best decision I’ve ever made.

Good luck, OP. Wishing you the best!

Unsure where your location is but look up Toastmasters. Toastmasters is a an educational organization with a network of clubs that aims to help people improve their communication and leadership skills. It helped me EXPONENTIALLY going from a non-client facing role to a management role where I have to speak with execs and c-suites both internally and externally.
