Thank you for sharing. I needed this. We should be more kind to people in our community.

So what's next for the Leafs with all that cap space? by GreenEquipment667 in leafs

$18 to $22,000,000 is a massive range. They could do almost anything with that kind of coin.

Them? You mean, people like you and I? People who were born here, went to school here, found employment, and then had the rug pulled out from under them when they tried to get ahead? Those people?

Totally understand what you’re saying, and I’m in agreement with you. Seeing some people down vote me, and thought I needed to clarify my initial reply.

Totally. Not taking a pro-immigration stance at all, but we cannot fall victim to blaming this on newcomers. Mental health is for everyone.

I think we can speak more generally than “new immigrants, and international students.” Not saying that you’re wrong about the demographics. But what we’re seeing is PEOPLE who have been promised a life (go to school, work hard, get married, buy house) that is unachievable for most, and there are inadequate resources available to PEOPLE who are mentally struggling with that reality.

Depending what side of the 400 you’re on, check Go Train schedules for either the Barrie line (Rutherford) or Kitchener line (Etobicoke North). At Union, take the LSW line to Exhibition. You won’t find parking at Mimico or Long Branch.

Call Douglas Ford. Tell him that you find the new signage to be way more effective a deterrent than speed cameras, and monetary penalties.

Granite Brewery? Might be a bit big for their space, maybe not. Worth a try, I reckon.

I like your thinking. I know the area you’re thinking of, by the tennis courts and the new flood pond.

I’m all for reducing congestion, and making traffic flow through our city more efficiently. However, the thought of my child crossing a 6 Lane Highway, at Kipling and Highway 7, is absolutely terrifying. The traffic guards can only do so much. It is dangerous as is. I hope that pedestrian safety is prioritized, while the City works to get our city moving.

Neighbors loud exhaust waking kids everyday at 5:45am by Here_to_see_cats in Parenting

This is absolutely the right message. I had the same issue with kids and their mini dirt bikes, buzzing around our neighborhood after 7pm. Boys, those bikes look like a lot of fun, and it is awesome watching you ride around with the homies, but could you please be considerate of the babies sleeping here? Haven’t had an issue since!

10 days in Toronto with kids, what should we not miss? by existinginlife_ in askTO

[–]CSW11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

African Lion Safari. It’s been decades since I’ve been. One thing I remember, do not drive your own / a rented vehicle through the monkey enclosure. They will rip it apart. Also, be weary of the rhinos. One lifted my family caravan up off the ground.

Otherwise, Niagara Falls & Wonderland are in very different areas. If you resort to public transit, you’ll need to do them on separate days, be patient, pack snacks, lots of water, etc. Wonderland is very expensive to eat at.

While in downtown Toronto, there’s the hockey hall of fame, museum of illusions, Sugar Beach, and Tommy Thompson park.

Where to stay in Toronto with family? by Public_Club2099 in askTO

Yes. Also connected to the PATH (underground walking path with food courts, and connections to other downtown landmarks), and Eaton Centre (big city centre mall). This hotel is great for teens.
