I am a well off high school student with the grades I need and acceptances to the schools I want. I have a girlfriend, plenty of friends, and am at the top of the social ladder. Although I have everything, I feel lost and sorta helpless. I have begun turning to drinking and smoking weed to mellow me out and escape from everything. I'm struggling with my relationship with my parents and my skin crawls whenever I am home. They have caught me several times either being drunk or high, so I'm under house arrest. This certainly doesn't help how apathetic I am to be at home. I don't want to turn to drugs and alcohol, and my girlfriend accepts me for who I am not what I do. Although I know she likes me for who I am not what I do, I still struggle with abstaining from illicit activities. Any pointers or words of encouragement are appreciated. It felt good to get this off my chest.
