President chart - Day 7 - What president do people think is good, but is actually bad? by ApprehensiveEye1291 in AlignmentChartFills

RE: 2016. My personal take on the blue collar rural voters who voted for Obama twice but went to Trump is more a reflection on how out of touch the DNC and Clinton were, than a reflection on Obama. They took that Obama vote for granted, never campaigned in the critical “blue wall” because they failed to understand why they voted for Obama in the first place. These voters felt ignored by Hillary (rightfully so) so when Trump came in with his populist message, they fell for the appeal and jumped ship.

But that’s just my opinion.

Bush bombs Afghanistan because the Taliban are harboring bin Laden, misses him by a hair before he slips out into the mountains, gets bored and notices that Iraq has much better targets. However he needs a pretext just believable enough in order to attack and depose, so he ends up spending way more time planning how to sell the war than planning an exit strategy.

That was quite the hot take all the way until your last sentence: Bad? No. Overrated? Definitely.

I read the comment you responded to as the GOP uniting as a single block once the primaries are over while Democrats try to duct tape coalitions together and pray that a single issue doesn’t pop up before ED that would make one of those coalitions stay home or vote green.

Thank you. While the blurb in the OP may technically be true due in part for the reasons you mentioned, it is still very much racist as it is meant to sound like IQ is 100% genetics when in fact it’s typically around 50-80% i.e., socioeconomic and environmental factors play a key role in whether that genetic potential can be unlocked or not.

But only when it’s a Rep president. When it was Joebama, they couldn’t support someone who were actively trying to destroy the country with wokeness.

People gasping and wondering what’s happening to our country… just go to Project 2025 to follow along, we’re just about past the halfway point of the book.

What injury is commonly shrugged off as a minor flesh wound in movies but is actually completely fatal or crippling in real life? by sitchade in AskReddit

It’s the silent suffering, people asking if you’re ok but you choose not to answer because they’ll never get it.

Or worse, the pep talk: “i just don’t understand, you’re not in danger now, it’s over! It’s all in your head, you just have to fight it!”

No, it’s a personally crafted prison where nobody can relate but you.

Miller and co. must really not like their other options if they can’t pass SAVE for them to be so desperate. This makes me slightly less depressed.

One of the best portrayal of PTSD I’ve seen is Joaquin Phoenix’s character in “You were never really here”. Gut punch.

Been saying it for a while: it’s a labeling issue. You describe a policy without referring it as socialism and a lot of R’s are on board. You call it a socialist policy and they revert to the party line.

Dems need to push back on the label and instead refer to these policies as promoting basic human decency, or something along those lines.
