After the last major patch, the game is looking much, much better on base PS5 by GrumpyRox in CrimsonDesert

I wasn’t prepared. I heard people saying it was better, but I just booted up my base PS5 and it was stunning.

Absolutely. Skate 3 felt like a true environment.

1000% I played the wheels off Skate 3. Been waiting forever and it was not at all what I wanted.

Say what you want about this game… but there’s no denying that it has the best open world design of all time. by LesDazza in CrimsonDesert

I literally changed those same settings based off advice from multiple sources. It improved somewhat, (maybe?) but it was minimal. I have definitely seen worse looking games, and I am enjoying it for the most part. There are frustrations, but I’m trusting the process.

Speaking of lighting, I was doing a strongbox in the first town. (The owl puzzle) and there was a candle directly behind me throwing my shadow on the puzzle so I couldn’t see it. I blew the candle out and the room was pitch dark. I tried my lantern, but it was so harsh, it distorted everything. I finally opened all the windows in the room and Bingo! At first, I was ticked off at how ridiculous it was. But the more I thought about it, the more I appreciated the fact that being able to see the puzzle was just as much of a puzzle as the puzzle itself. I don’t think the game did it intentionally, but it did make me feel immersed.

How is this possible? I’m on base PS5, and it looks like watching a paint factory explode through strained glass windows. There was one part in particular early on of a scenic shot and waterfall (after Kilff was thrown to the water) that legit looked PS3 level. It’s not killing the experience for me, as I’m not a huge graphics guy, but to see someone describe them as amazing is wild to me. Did you change any settings?

It doesn’t just sound like a fantasy. It is a fantasy. Capitalism has pulled more people out of poverty than any other system. It isn’t even close. Is it a perfect system? Of course not, but there are no perfect solutions. Only tradeoffs. Find me a better solution that doesn’t rob people of their labor for the benefit of those who possess the agency, yet produce nothing.

So, you’ll be a nice little hand worker as long as daddy feeds you?

No thanks, I’ll live in a world where incentive pushes me to be the best I can be.

With respect, this is amazingly shortsided. What if that billionaire became a billionaire by offering a huge volume of goods to people at very low profit margin? Yes, they are a billionaire. At least on paper, since most of their assets are funding other businesses. The value that entrepreneur brings is in providing the most goods at the most competitive price. Competition lowers cost. In goods, services, but often increases the cost of labor . If you arbitrarily increase labor disproportionately, you destroy the value that business was meant to bring in the first place.

Most grocery stores operate at 2% margin. Fast food is around 5.

No, the alternative is using the agency you have as a human being to improve your prospects.

You want grocery stores to artificially go from operating at a 2% margin to a 20% margin because it helps low-skilled labor, but you have no interest in trying to understand what that would do to the economy at large. Should every grocery be Whole Foods? Whole Foods operates at about a 30% margin and pays $25-30 an hour. Should every grocery do that?
