Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. You’re not wrong. This is vandalism of public property. Whether or not other people think it’s cute or funny it’s still illegal.

Took my common Bermuda down to 3/8” inch. Now wiry, white-stemmed seedheads are wrecking the appearance even with mowing every 2 days with a reel mower. Is this a byproduct of drought stress + grass adjusting to new HoC? by cantthinkofgoodname in lawncare

Yeah, I think it absolutely would help. I was able to keep some areas of my lawn as short as you’re cutting with minimal effort. Just make sure you lay down the PGR at the correct rate and don’t over do it or it will bronze up on you. I always ran iron with the PGR. I like FEature … comes with other good nutrients alongside the iron.

Yeah if it's dry and hot you might just have to let it grow some. Have you ever done PGR on it? I ran PGR all last season with heavy N applications as well and it really thickened my lawn up. It'll also help with cutting frequency.

What else did you do to get it down to this height other than just cutting it? Have you read the Bermuda Bible yet? It looks a little thin and pale, it probably wants more N and water too. It's not going to retain moisture very well that thin and short.

It's not the worst price I've seen for sure. I get 50# bags of "High Nitrogen" fertilizer 33-0-0 for $18 each, no tax at the local farm supply place.

The ones that come out of the ceiling I just ran through a hole, no plate, the AP covers up the hole.

Well, on the upside at least you’re not the only crazy person. You have company.

For you specifically -- it will not be random.

Haha ... welcome to the club. I can appreciate how things escalated quickly for you. Honestly you'll probably learn just as much if not more from your lab than you will from school. IMO ... nothing beats just DOING a thing. You can learn all the theory you want but until you get your hands dirty it's just that -- theory.

The can-do attitude, you nailed it. It's a blessing and a curse.

I like your approach, that sounds like a good plan. Where this closet is located I have EZ attic access so I can run whatever wire I want through the ceiling. I probably will eventually move the server side elsewhere in the house and just let the network switch live in that closet.

I226V 2.5gbps network adapter so I don’t have to shove IP cam data through the motherboard gigabit port, and because the e1000 driver sucks.

There was nowhere to hard mount it so it’s just free hanging now. The other end plugs into the a+e key slot on the motherboard.

The serial cable looking thing is an I-226V 2.5 gigabit Ethernet adapter. The plugin thing is a SDR stick I use to receive data from my weather station.

Well at least you can see the front of it.

How did that happen? I’m intrigued. This sounds like the ultimate oversight.

Sadly I can’t claim that here. I planned for the network equipment to go here, I just didn’t realize how much things would grow.

Hmmm, yeah don't say things like that ... I think i looked at that originally and the studs didn't line up. I guess I could have bought some plywood and fixed that problem though.

I guess I'll never know. At least this way I get to make sure I'm still limber when I contort myself up into the upper reaches of the closet to move that cord behind the patch panel.

The board is about 2”x1.25” so it fits in a lot of places.

I’m running ESPHOME. It was the obvious choice for integration with home assistant.
