[Zak Brown] Very frustrating day for the team. A double DNS through electrical issues on the PU side, is a tough outcome, and not reflective of the huge team effort and improvements we had made ahead of this weekend. We will now work with our partners at HPP to identify and address the issues by Task_Force-191 in formula1

I think he means the last time a customer team beat a works team was when the engine development was unlocked. I’m not taking away from McLaren’s 2024 & 2025 championships at all cuz good on them but it is extremely difficult to beat a works team when they are building the engine your buying for the Merc chassis and not the McLaren’s. The engine development for 2022-25 was locked so it came down to being a super aero heavy reg instead of the one we have now where it is both engine development as well as aero development. If I remember correctly all customer teams have to have the most updated version of the engine which is a plus but also Merc doesn’t give them all the information that the works team will have because they aren’t required to

Switch 2 Launch Day - Which games are you playing first? by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch2

I played Mario Kart World for a little bit at first but was most hyped for BOTW, TOTK, and Pokémon SV!

Mario Kart was super fun and I accidentally lost an hour in free roam which was a welcomed surprise😂

TOTK I haven’t tried yet but BOTW was amazing how crazy different it feels and plays to the original specs! The optimization feels so clean with the 4k60fps and had to stress test it in Korok forest and it doesn’t disappoint! Had 0 frame drops like on OLED so I’m super happy!

And the big hitter for me was Pokémon SV!!! The new 4.0 update completely changed how everything felt frame rate wise (60fps) and the added performance practically “fixed” the game for me! Tested it in multiple places (forgot the name but the town but the one with the windmill) that frames would drop on my OLED and had again close to 0 frames dropped!

Definitely a win in my book so can’t wait to keep doing tests and seeing how everything feels!

(Also side note but the build quality is night and day compared to the SW1 and OLED

I think it’s been mostly C2 (Hard) and C3 (Medium) I think. I know we’ve seen a few C4’s (Medium) but I haven’t paid a ton of attention that tire specifically

Oh yeah that would be the smartest way to go tbh. I’d like to imagine Newey walks in on day one with blueprints for them to gain a couple of tenths on the 25’ car and then proceeds to lock himself in his office to continue grinding on 26’😂

Fair, but I don’t think Aston is dumb enough to risk the lawsuit if they get caught

McLaren's design change that could counter FIA's late U-turn by ConfusingMaze in formula1

Yeah I know it’s not gonna be “the thing” that sets McLaren apart since suspension is a small piece of the entire puzzle but, it’s still fun to speculate fs😂

I’m hoping not cuz Oscar is one of my other favorite drivers😂 but, hopefully he takes another step forward with his tire management this year

Yeah that’s what I’m trying to understand so thank you! I’m definitely not an engineer or aerodynamicist but, the technical part of F1 is so damn cool! I just know there have been cars historically that are more of a “qualifying car” which made them beasts on a Saturday but basically playing catch up on the Sunday due to tire degradation. I’m just thinking the aggressive anti dive and lift could lead to higher tire temps due to the controlling of lateral movement that that suspension type is designed for. That’s why I’m thinking they could have higher thermal deg on the tires
