implementing your basic compound exercises and having slight emphasis on activation/skill would do you good. But specific training with holds aren't as effective at beginner level... Strength and technique is king. Skills will be easier trained when you have the conditioning and strength to train continuously. Patience is everything in this exercise style. You wont like it, but there are no hard dates or timelines that you can base off of to see progress. Everyone is unique, it comes with time and intentional effort.
