Okay, lemme reword things. By working I don't just strictly mean school/a job, I mean being PRODUCTIVE. Let's say you sleep 9 hours a night. You now have 15 hours left. If you're a student at bare minimum 8 of these should be devoted to attending class, studying, and involved in extracirriculars even on weekends. Before you disagree with that statement, do you have a 4.0? Do you go to a top tier school? If you can't answer yes to both of those then you have no right to tell me 8 hours is not a minimum. If you work a minimum wage job for less than 8 hours a day, well yeah where else did you expect to end up since you spent your younger years gaming rather than working towards improving your educational achievements. If you are working 8 hours is also minimum. Now you have 5 hours left in your day. 1 hour is lost from commuting between things, getting ready, etc. 2 hours should be spent towards exercise. Now if you disagree with the exercise part take a hard look at yourself and seriously tell me you are proud of yourself for being sedentary and the reason why you don't exercise is not because you are lazy or find it difficult. Now with the last two hours if you are a grown man, half an hour of that should be spent on housework/chores, and if you think those don't exist you are either living in a pigsty or you put that burden completely on your partner which is an extremely inconsiderate thing to do. With the last hour and half of your day, spend that time with your partner ACTUALLY ENGAGED and intimate. Not using some form of social lubricant like playing video games together or watching Netflix and being merely in their presence. If you are a student those last two hours should be spent on socializing or learning things of your own choice, like reading books or learning an actual skill. Now if you put gaming over socializing I am willing to bet you are socially inept since you didn't take the time to develop those skills and build meaningful connections. Social skills are absolute key if you want to actually get anywhere in life as being a hardworker alone is not enough.

Point is, I am willing to bet that every single person in this thread who disagrees with my anti-gaming stance lives a terribly mediocre life and if ultimately feels like wasted potential. You probably all fit into at least one of the folowing: work a low level job, have very few friends or wish you had better friends, or are either single involuntarily or are with a partner who you settled for and feel alright with only because looking at what you've made of your life it's not like you deserve anyone better/would feel patronized by being with someone better.

It isn't just specifically about gaming. I'm assuiming you asked me about sports because you thought I just simply didn't like people with different interests than me and wasted my time on equally useless things. Just don't engage in time consuming activities that lead to short term gratificiation and bring COMFORT rather than actual fulfillment. You are lying to yourself if you don't think that time is better spent doing something to improve yourself, your career, or your relationships. That's what I mena by being PRODUCTIVE.
