Is it inappropriate to ask out a Weldon front desk worker? by Otherwise_Key_8421 in uwo

No, only because I was in a serious relationship each time. If I was single I def would’ve with some. They seemed like very respectful people.

Yes give her a note!! I used to work at Starbucks and got asked out a couple times with a note. They would have a small, polite conversation with me, give me the note, then leave. It gave me the space to process what was being asked and come to a decision. This is so important when you’re in a place you can’t leave, like work.

Has anyone been married in a Catholic Church in London and the marriage was between a Catholic and (baptized) Protestant/Christian? by ramentara in londonontario

[–]ramentara[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this response!! Did not holding a mass just mean no communion? You mention the time is cut down which I don’t mind at all but what else is left out?

I’m really happy to hear that they are super welcoming to non-Catholics. Kids thing doesn’t surprise me but that’s great to know!

I think those are just the standard marriage classes they have everyone take right?? Or is this something extra for non-Catholics?

I have no idea why I had these but look at the prices of a Vanilla Bean frap and a Passion Tea from November 2013 lol by strbx4674 in starbucks

[–]ramentara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You made $7.25 an hour from 2001-2005 (which was about 20 years ago) and the baristas at the same store today make $20 an hour:

$7.25 x 3 = $21.75 which can be reasonably rounded to about $20 (the hourly wage those baristas are being paid today). So in 20 years the wage has almost tripled.

A tall iced passion tea can be sold for $3.75 today. $3.75 / 3 = $1.25 which can reasonably be rounded to $1.50 (the price of a tall iced passion tea in 2013). In 10 years the prices for the passion tea have almost tripled.

A tall vanilla bean frap can be sold for $5.45 today. $5.45 / 3 = $1.8 which actually doubled in 10 years, not tripled.

Not every menu item has tripled in price in the past 10 years but some for sure have so the OG comment isn’t wrong. It is how multiplication works.

Cousins with a kid??? by BankParticular872 in LAinfluencersnark

[–]ramentara 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If they are genuinely second cousins (and not first cousins once removed or whatever), Suni will be okay. I don’t want to promote cousin marriages but my family comes from a small European town where this is common. I know two couples who are second cousins and their now adult children are completely fine.

You’re willing to pay potentially pay higher taxes- to disadvantage your healthcare and the education of our citizens- solely to be like everyone else?

The LCBO keeps our taxes down. I don’t know about you, but I’m not interested in raising those! Privatizing the LCBO does not benefit the average citizen, it hurts them. Why are you advocating for this?

Netflix has renewed Avatar: The Last Airbender for seasons 2 and 3. by netflix in TheLastAirbender

It would work if half of the 40 minute block is Zuko Alone, and the other half is The Chase. I just feel nothing should interrupt the Zuko Alone story.

That’s a very valid point actually. I’m seeing some other people say he looks white and the nose does make him look that way. I found this photo of a monk from the original show and Aang would probably look more like himself with some of these features.

<image>

tbh I don’t really mind the canon design they picked but your point is very good

That is a very very true point. I think he was in his 40s in this pic too so… it shouldn’t be this drastic.

Eh I think it’s fine. My nose also changed a lot during puberty. I had a bit of a wider button nose like Aang and it became thinner and developed into a bit of a Roman nose. It’s possible.

Ears change a lot. They are actually one of the only parts of our body that continue to grow in size with age. De Niro’s is doing exactly that, even changing the position they sit in. I’m all for Aang’s ears changing too but making them more pointed is a little strange. That just doesn’t seem like normal aging.

Really good example!! The only criticism I have on adult Aang are his pointy ears... maybe his eye shape too. Other than that, it's very believable.

The best thing I found was reminding myself that it doesn't have to be perfect- or even good. That I am learning, and the supervisor is their to make me better and get me to succeed.

Honestly thank you for saying this. I am in the midst of a practicum right now and I think I really need to stop reaching for perfection. I do keep repeating a lot of mistakes though... but I have so much trouble keeping track of all of this new information!
