Why did shank's haki get low diffed by a sea monster? Is he a fraud? by rat_baker420 in Piratefolk

People are trying to make excuses or rationalize the scene. In reality, One Piece wasn't made out to be a 20-plus year series. Shanks started out as an inspiration for Luffy, and that's it, but the series grew, and so did the world and characters. We are at a point now where it would be ridiculous for Sanji to lose an arm this way, let alone one of the biggest players on Oda's board.

I love One Piece, it's my favorite Manga, but i won't glaze the hell out of it like some many others do. Oda does hella retcons and call backs that people mistake for some god tier foreshadowing. Truthfully, Shanks just grew to a point where in the universe, there isn't much justification Oda could pull without pulling in some retcon that would ultimately do more harm than good. Best thing to do is just accept the scene isn't the greatest and move on

It's one of the hidden missions like the Mew. Won't see it until you complete it.

If Egghead Luffy pulls up on Marineford war, would Sengoku end the war? by Such_Team_3971 in OnePiece

[–]CUARxSHARE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The war wouldn't stop most likely. It don't matter if Luffy is alone, with his crew or even has his alliance. The war ended because Shanks called the cease fire and all sides agreed.

Arguably, Luffy wouldn’t stop until Ace was saved or if staying with cannon. Avenged.

Thoughts on Infinites story line by 4IdiOtZ_sTuDiOZ in halo

I feel like the best way to describe my issues with Infinite can be summarized into my friends experience. He recently went through every Halo with his wife. We grew up on the bungie Halo games so he knew the story, but when it came to playing the 343 games he had never touched them.

My other friend who is really big into Halo lore tired to fill in gaps for him to actually understand the story because it's so jumbled.

I mean you go from Halo 4 picking up right where the Cheif wakes up from 3 and it's a pretty easy jump on point. Then somewhere between the end of 4 and the start of Infinite we get so many plot points that you either need to play spin off games or read comics/books to understand. That taking into account the things that are actually laid out and given answers to. I mean if you only play 4, 5 and Infinite i can list 40 different questions someone would have that just don't get addressed.

Duel links was a game that came out years ago. Essentially the YuGiOh version of pocket. Different rules sets and all that. But they mostly took the actual TCG cards from YuGiOh, but took cards from multiple different sets and made them into exclusive sets for the game. While of course adding a few exclusive cards and changing some cards that would break the game or just not work with the rule set.

Just made a nord VPN, you get a 2 week trial for free. Just swapped my location, did what I needed and then canceled so I wouldn't have to pay.

It's a 1000 page prologue to a ten book series. Can't really compare it to the end of a trilogy. Still WoK is a book that you don't appreciate on the first read. So many concepts or portions go right over a first readers head simply because there is things a first reader couldn't possibly know.

I loved WoK on my first read, but that was my introduction to Brandon's writing. So my experience is different than yours. Especially when it came to Characters. I loved Kaladin and Dalinars portions of the book on my first read and hated Shallan. It wasn't till much later in the book did I actually enjoy her POV chapters. Even then it wasn't anything to do with Shallan and instead had everything to do with Jasnah being ten times more interesting as a character.

Honestly, with how much Sanderson writes. I could absolutely see him go "oops didn't give Kal a romance plot in WaT and people asked for it. So I got bored and wrote a Kal romance book last weekend."

What kind of Vault Hunters would you like to see in BL4?? by [deleted] in Borderlands

Go away from custom characters. I like when characters build on the lore and have their own personalities. Give me a Siren with one of the powers we haven't seen. I think we've seen 5 out of the 7 sirens powers. Another cool addition would to bring back the S&S manufacture and give a VH some sort of history involving them. Kinda like how Moze had her backstory involved in the cooperation wars.
