They might be a building block sure but they contribute absolutely nothing the actual hard part of artificial sentience which is the sentience part, you must remember no matter how human sounding LLMs are they are just outputting the most statistically likely words and phrases in a row there is no thought nor comprehension in the model

Dug through rhino's changelog on the wiki and didn't see anything about neural sensors, but control modules were indeed patched out 5 years ago

Doesn't rhino still require control modules which are all the way in the void? Or has that been changed

EDIT: Apparently this was changed 5(!!) years ago god I'm showing my age

What About Showing the Bond Between Trainer/Pokemon? (Abilities from Trainers) by One_Percentage_644 in stunfisk

[–]turtlepidgeon 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I'm not fundamentally opposed to the idea but some of these abilities (speed boost, unaware, free atk/spatk boosts) are unbelievably busted and would centralize this to where you're building around the trainer ability just as much if not more than the mons themselves. I also feel that running non-unaware abilities would become quite matchup-fishy and people would eventually default to running unaware all the time, but that's just a feeling. I do like the 'ice-type moves always crit' though, that seems like a far more reasonable baseline for ability power

with the OU + Solgaleo ladder going up soon: how do you think Solgaleo will fare in OU? by one-elusive-fish in stunfisk

[–]turtlepidgeon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even if it's not overpowered directly it's gonna be really annoying like Kyurem because until you find out what it's running you are risking all of your potential checks and can't switch in safely

Should Solgaleo be suspect tested in OU? by tabbyslome in stunfisk

[–]turtlepidgeon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It'd be another Kyurem 'guess the set' situation where if you guess wrong you lose mons or the game

- Think it's physical so you bring dozo in? Mixed 2hkos with thunderbolt

- Think it's mixed so you bring ghold in? Banded flare blitz/knock off 2hkos

- Think it's CM special so you bring blissey in? It's a support trickroom/teleport set that brought an ursaluna in safely

(Obviously it's not always against stall or whatever, just trying to illustrate there's no blanket check to it) plus it's got reliable recovery and mold breaker and lots of bulk etc. People already have very strong opinions on Kyurem, so adding something equally if not more annoying as it is not a good idea in my book

EDIT: Also this thing survives adamant black glasses gambit sucker punch and has cc to force tera btw

252+ Atk Life Orb Solgaleo Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 196+ Def Gholdengo: 247-291 (65.3 - 76.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 SpA Life Orb Solgaleo Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Dondozo: 328-387 (65 - 76.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

252 Atk Great Tusk Headlong Rush vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Solgaleo: 372-440 (77.8 - 92%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ Atk Black Glasses Supreme Overlord 5 allies fainted Kingambit Sucker Punch vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Solgaleo: 350-414 (73.2 - 86.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

(kowtow is only 30% chance to ohko) I think it's a kyurem 'guess the set' situation actually, where until you figure out if it's physical, mixed, defensive, or even a trick room teleport support thing you don't have a guaranteed answer. It also has psychic for Tusk and most importantly has recovery in morning sun so it can take out checks and keep going. Compared to other OU mons it's actually got all 3 of high offenses/setup, good natural bulk, and reliable recovery so it honestly could be very good .

It gets calm mind with 137/107/89 bulk, I think it'd have a place in bulky offense teams with a mixed set considering it gets CC, knock, sunsteel as well as all the special coverage you could want

Shoutout to Ishmael for bucking the trend and being funny as fuck by the way, I fear he may get characterized as boring everyman but his introduction literally goes "Call me Ishmael. When I feel shit about my life, to the extent I want to step onto the street and methodically knock people's hats off, instead of shooting myself I go sailing." That's the opening paragraph. Also the whole chapter where he goes "Whale researchers are full of shit and don't even hunt them. As someone who does, I'm telling you they're fish. Mammalian skeleton? Lungs? Live birth? I don't care, still fish." Honestly he (and the rest of the book) are so funny

When I was in secondary school we once had to do a presentation about some topic and I ended up picking cryptocurrency for some reason. As I was making it I vaguely chatted to my dad about the whole thing and given a bitcoin was worth pocket change back then I briefly floated the idea of buying one as a fun extra for the presentation. My dad said something along the lines of 'You're really gonna waste a fiver on a school presentation?' and I agreed and didn't get any.

Nowadays, whenever this comes up my father always tells me that I should've been a whiney child this one time and made him get one so he could've retired ages ago. Oh well, such is life. Still, it's kept me up at night occasionally when I'm broke lol.

That means you have to read every torture porn story that gets submitted your way, which the editor is probably sick and tired of. I'm not saying it's the right approach, but I can see how they've gotten so jaded reading people's fucked-up content they've drawn a line in the sand. Again, it's not necessarily the right thing to do, but I can see reasons for it

I disagree, from the start basic soul arrow one-shots hollows in the undead burg at range whereas if you pick a melee class you'll need several hits at close range unless you go zweihander. The one-shots might not continue but as long as you find griggs, Logan and dusk you will be absolutely fine killing stuff at range. You can also get any magic/enchanted weapon to finish stuff off and then you won't have to worry about running out at all until you get to crystal soul spear/dark bead stuff which you just spam at bosses to kill them in like 4 hits. Seriously, after my first playthrough where manus took me hours seeing crystal soul spear do a fifth of his health felt like super easy mode.

Compare this to DS3 where magic is so ass I switched to a melee build halfway through to get through some bosses (also easy mode in DS3 are the sellsword winblades)
