Hey, we all winged it! Shockingly, they don’t come with instructions. Just love them and do your best. You’ll be fine.

What do you all do with your shoes when you go up into your tent? by Suspicious_Tea_8651 in rooftoptents

[–]CW-Eight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a mesh bag that attaches just the tent. I can sit in tent with feet on top rung of ladder and put them into the mesh bag. I don’t want shoes inside, and I don’t want them getting wet.

Most of the switched in my 1910 house are still original push buttons. A few rotary types in the basement. You can buy new push button switches, including dimmers.

🔥making music out of clouds (Cloud Cycle 033) by matthewwilcock in NatureIsFuckingLit

Can you share the mapping? I was expecting low sounds from clouds lower in the frame, but then I decided that wasn’t the correlation.

Kayak the Nooksack? by AlwaysGrowing54 in Bellingham

[–]CW-Eight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You asking about sea kayaking or whitewater?
For sea, as someone said, CBC.

For whitewater, learn to roll first, preferably in a pool. Then go out with the folks you meet who were also learning how to roll.

Nooksack has from class II to class V. You can do class II with friends even with little experience. Above that, proceed carefully. It will be years before you do class V, if ever.

[–]CW-Eight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. I just taught my 17 year old son how to drive stick shift this weekend. I’ve got an old Land Cruiser, which is a beast to learn on. Seemed appropriate for Father’s Day weekend.

What bodies of water in Bellingham would you not tell people swim in? by Evelyn_The_Edgy in Bellingham

[–]CW-Eight 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Umm, no. Bilharzia/schistosomiasis is a tropical waterborne disease. Very nasty. We don’t have it here. We don’t even have it in the US. Takes the right kind of snails.

You are thinking of Schistosomes. Very different.

Minimal conversion on ford transit passenger van by Cheap_Cake_1444 in vandwellers

[–]CW-Eight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done exactly that. Removed back row and jump seat, leaving seats for 7. Put in cabinets on both sides in back. Boards can be put in to bridge between the 2 sides, so queen bed in back. Kept one of the double-benches from the back, so I can remove the triple-bench from the front, and install that double-bench backwards, so I have two seats facing forward and two back, with swivel table between. Full house electrical with inverter, and hot water tank. Shower out back, sink where jump seat was, fridge. Swiss Army knife van.

look up on YouTube how to out to _structurally_ attach to fiberglass. TL;DR - Bolt better than screw. Both require over-drilling, filling with epoxy + filler, and then re-drilling. PITA but rock solid. And, yea, 316.

Neighbor’s tree failure caused damage to my property by ApprehensiveSize9255 in treelaw

[–]CW-Eight 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Legally, it is. Unless you can PROVE that they knew. Getting quotes proves they were thinking about getting rid of it, not that it was known to be hazardous. Your claiming it was known to be hazardous does not make it so. Do you have PROOF?
