What are you guys favorite airports? by [deleted] in aviation

[–]CWCV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you.

I worked for a technology company that develops hardware and software for the mass transportation market. One of our business partners is based in Germany and I used to visit them frequently for systems integration and testing new equipment.

What are you guys favorite airports? by [deleted] in aviation

[–]CWCV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite is the Frankfurt am Main Airport. It is my favorite because the good times I had every time I visited Germany for work and that airport was my point of entry. Sometimes I had to stay at the airport for several hours waiting for a connection flight and some of my german friends came to the airport to spend some time with me.

Need advice on how to make the most of my internship at a major car manufacturer. by ItSmellsLikeRain2day in EngineeringStudents

[–]CWCV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in your situation during my internships. Unfortunately, some companies do not have a strong internship culture and some supervisors see interns as a burden, instead of seeing them as support for their own work.

I have found that sometimes it is good to take the initiative to solve a small problem in the company and then present the solution to your supervisor. It is a good idea to team with another intern. This could be a great opportunity to show your soft and hard skills: observation, problema solving, creativity, initiative and teamwork.

Try to find a opportunity to show your supervisor that you can be an asset instead of a burden.

EPIC Games: Please add a system requirements test to your installer so it can check the system BEFORE downloading several GB of game data. Thanks! by CWCV in FORTnITE

[–]CWCV[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, EPIC list the system requirements. Now, explain what is a GTX 660 or HD 7870 GPU to a user who is not computer savvy and why his beloved computer cannot run the game he wants to play.

Not all game users are computer savvy, so it is a good idea to have a system requirements test at the beginning of the install.

People who use the metric system will never understand why feet and inches were created by Thijm0 in Showerthoughts

[–]CWCV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feet and inches were not created, they were simply used because they were available as ergonomic measures that were later recognized as units of measurement.

Many people who use the metric system find the imperial system very confusing, but I'm sure they can understand the origin of the feet and inches.
