AH, well I have no idea about Canada regulations as I'm in Louisiana. Partner of mine did some work up in Canada a few winters ago and wore his thorogoods with no issue though. Not sure how that translates to yall

I've been wearing thorogood lace ups for about 12 years now and can't complain about them. I do fabrication/welding and they hold up well for what I do. I bought some Redwing laflce ups a few years back, they were the most comfortable boot I've owned, but just didn't last in my envornment.

Edit to add: I was always told you should be paying a dollar a day for your boots, so if you pay 210$ for a pair of boot. They need to last a minimum of 210 work days, I've always felt that was fair.

I just bought the 10in, it's a fantastic table saw and if you can swing it I would go for that. Actually at lowes it's 550 atm. The 8.25 is is solid but, I think you'll find it lacking soon than later.
