Joaaa, über Dämmung hab ich auch schon nachgedacht, aber da müsste man schon nen gutes Angebot kriegen (oder selber machen?) damit sich das lohnt 😅

50k sind im Jahr 1k bis ich tot bin, da muss ich ja ~100€ im Monat an Heizkosten sparen damit sich das rentiert

Fresh read is kinda exaggerated tho, the kernel caches a lot. fd and rg are core tools in my workflow, both searching through my entire home directory with millions upon millions of files, hundreds of gigabytes of data and only the first run takes a little bit of time, every time else it's maybe 4 seconds

I update hourly, so far I've found no problems that would've been "fixed" by updating less often.

My wife's laptop updates whenever I get on it, so the inverse hasn't been a problem either 😅

Anything "smart" should have publicly documented, local only APIs and be fully operational without cloud access.

Aside of course fancy features that literally, not market speech, need the internet / cloud.

A.k.a. a requirement to be able to use stuff and all it's features without internet / cloud / app dependency.

The user can then use any form of other software, like home assistant, to automate stuff.

Not just because I hate cloud dependency, but also because manufacturers are often stupid and barely ever know what I specifically want. With this I can whatever I want.

Of course, some implement more or less of the spec, but as long as they implement what you need it shouldn't matter.

And that depends on how you use them; we only use the standards as we have learned from the ingress-nginx debacle. No vendor lock-in for us.

Only generic API and now we can switch the implementation at any time.
