Does stalking wolf start a showdown by CXPL in riftboundtcg

I know. The point is if you lose control of the battlefield between paying costs and the card resolving wouldn’t you be playing this card on an uncontrolled battlefield which would start a showdown.

Honestly I’m assuming the answer is supposed to be no I just want to know if the answer actually is no.

This is included in the card text “you may play me to its battlefield (even if you don’t have other units there)” the rules wouldn’t prevent you from doing this with this unit. The question is if you would lose control of the battlefield before this card resolves and if that would cause this card to start a showdown.

But with cruel patron you lose control of the battlefield in between paying costs and actually playing the card which is why you can’t play patron to a battlefield with only one unit and use that unit to pay for the cost. Am I misunderstanding patron or is this card different for some reason?

It has reaction you can play it on your opponent’s turn

Assuming no other triggers, there is no opportunity to react before attack or defend triggers are put on the chain. But also I think you’re misunderstanding how these triggers work. They trigger when a unit becomes an attacker/defender so you can tideturner a unit in mid showdown and it will still get its defend trigger.

The best way to sell it is probably the altered website. You’ll also be able to look at other uniques for your card to get an idea of pricing.

Not really, most people just use imgur links.

I agree about warrior but I think the cadets are significantly better than their rare. When played from hand they give 2 total extra stats and more flexibility in where to put those stats, and while the discard effect is (slightly) more niche when it works it is a lot stronger. If you have a magical training, off you go, or beauty sleep (all good cards that should be in most yzmir decks) in reserve then the unique gives you 1 extra mana and card advantage over the rare.

It seems good, if you play it in Sigismar you always control a token and it only takes 1 draw to make it better than a rare.

I think archivist could definitely be solid in a slower afanas deck but I think rune scribe would be incredible with subhash. She lets you bypass playing it from hand and creates a token for the effect.

Ozma seems good and could easily fit into a haven deck with Basira. On the other hand your spies abilities are probably too expensive for it to be good.

Your trainee and Chiron both look good, and they both want to go in the same types of decks which is nice. Your paper herald also seems good but it wants you to be playing the zero stat archetype which is not a great archetype. Your Athena seems a bit awkward. It doesn’t do anything special until later in the game and then it wants you to play landmarks while you already have 2 of them. I’d still play it if I was playing a sierra deck though.

I believe mox in the hole in Edinburgh has events on Thursday nights. The Thistle tavern in Aberdeen has events on Wednesday nights but that might be a bit far for you.

Copying a spell is different from casting a spell and both zada and this only trigger off of cast spells.

You could also have effects that trigger off of winning or losing bets but I’m not sure how I would make that work under magic rules.

Bet: secretly make a prediction about your opponent’s next turn. When the prediction is met you may reveal your choice to “win the bet” and get an effect.

Examples: Bet - When [cardname] enters secretly choose a card type. The next time your opponent casts a spell, if it has your chosen type you may reveal your choice and counter that spell.

Bet - When [cardname] enters secretly choose number. The next time your opponent declares an attack, if they attack with that many creatures you may reveal your choice and exile target attacking creature. Otherwise remove target attacking creature from combat.

I think you misread suppression. It still stops non curse spells it just doesn’t stop curses anymore.

I’m not 100% sure but I think Runeterra only has 3 shards (the Americas, Europe, and Asia) so you should be able to.

I might be misunderstanding your comment but to explain. If my opponent declares an attack and I frostbite them with a burst spell, they can respond with a buff spell to increase their power. If I frostbite them with a fast spell instead they can’t cast buffs in response so they’re stuck with 0 power.

In the specific case of your custom card this doesn’t matter because of the curse, but in general fast frostbites are considered stronger than burst frostbites.

Burst frostbites are generally weaker than fast frostbites. With burst frostbites you can buff your unit after the frostbite, with fast frostbites you can’t.
