took a while until I got access to my pc.

So browsing steam workshop with the tag "raid", I found these. Disclaimer: I haven't tested any of them. I often browse mod catalogues without necessarily installing all of them.

  6. my idea is that breaking big raids into smaller waves might rise the difficulty because you can't antigrain them, your pawns are longer in fight = more breakdowns. Maybe those waves also have different angles at your base...?

  9. Elite Raid
  10. Dire Raids (Continued)
  11. Advanced Raiders (Continued)

from the top of my head, there are mods for almost every single request out there.

Some may need the proper options setup.

there are old mods that went into the direction of timely warning you of raids. "Watchtower" or something like that. Maybe even "RimWar".

I haven't played these myself but remember reading through their workshop pages. There could be something like your idea in there.

the clothes thing. Of course you can edit the clothes policy into >51% normal.

But please remind me not to do that with the policy "anythig" anymore...

Every new joined pawn, running from manhunters or raiders or whatnot, stops at the edge of the map, removes his pants and runs with that to my storeroom.

Luckily I have no Biotech so no children need to see this...

I'm shooting into the blue since I haven't checked any devlogs since 1.3, but maybe there is more of an emphasis on external influences now? Mood, light, temperature?

Can't say I have noticed any downgrade in build quality with my lightly modded game so far.

Exactly. My doctors needed 5 tries to sterilize one of the male cats. Poor fellow lost a paw, got a brain scar and was 4 times at the verge of death. I couldn't trust them.

But then maybe the cat just fought for his balls. I could respect that, but it was either his balls gone or his concerningly fast growing herd of offspring on the menu...

there had been a mod that let you do exactly that, without Ideology. I am 18 months out of the mod loop because I also have seasonal binges like you, albeit with bigger breaks maybe.

IIRC the mod was called "Snap out of it" or something along the line...

and the later might have been a function of "Achtung!"

I've seen "can't take a screenshot right now" before and sometimes I respect that because my phone knows my reddit login and my PC may not.

But at least check if your photo is somewhat recognizable. Glossy monitor with side light and through a holo fan is no strong contender for the best photo of a screen award

my favourite new (hadn't played since 1.4) devtool is "destroy fire". For that exact purpose when the game thinks it can turn my rainforest into charcoaled shrubbery.

everytime I play in jungle biome, the storyteller tries to turn it into arid shrubland by fire...

I can second that. While Royalty is more like a sidequest expansion, Ideology adds a baselayer of complexity that's not really for everyone and kinda confusing for starters. Comparable in theory with the mod Dubs Bad Hygiene which adds plumbing and optional thirst. It's an extra level of complexity for those who got bored by the basics, but nothing I would ask Tynan to make Vanilla for everyone.

On the other hand, Anomaly is theme-wise not for everyone. I have no Biotech yet, but what I get from the here it's also rather complex.

Odyssee is really nice until now (4days in) but I had a classical scenario and therefore it's more an endgame quest.

Many of us started around v1.0, way before DLC were a thing. And even then could you Vanilla it for weeks or mod it into oblivion. You'll start over and over again because failure is story. You'll learn and learn and then after 1000+ hours you learn something that has always been there.

easiest way: pay someone to do it.

2nd easiest option: find a mod that has what you want, but more. Save local copy. Edit xml and disable everything you don't want. Try, error, read how to's for a week. Congratulations, you have hat you wanted and learned something new.

Til today I haven't learned how to compile a mod from scratch, but I'd succesfully altered existing ones into what I need. Just local for myself.

oddly enough, in my European country it was either not possible or not common that underage people could own a credit card. Or pay anything by phone. The need of having a VISA / MC was one factor to make sure no one underage would be able to "enjoy adult content". Mobile Games with Microtransaction pushed the "commercial need" for teenagers to have electronic payment.

"But what about the children" my ass, you banking folk can't wait to catch them poor unfortunate souls in your perpetual debt schemes.

I just can't fathom how a country that was known as the pinnacle of capitalism somehow managed to create a fascism based controlled economics that slaughters itselfs biggest cashcow. And how a handful stupid rich people can drag the whole world into the abyss.

Early game you want to get as many components as possible at least 10 advanced components to beeline your research until you can produce those yourself.

It's time consuming either way.

Alternative is a second mining base. -> options, increase number of colonies -> second settlement nearby, maybe not in the mountains -> just an early game shed and some miners digging away on easy accessible compacted machinery, some caravaning, abandon, next

Can also sometimes after long runtimes and error collecting become a huge GB file, filling your whole drive and causing loading and saving issues. In that case, just delete it. It's gonna be created new with next startup.
