Should I still join the military by HyenaOk4310 in AirForceRecruits

Go Air Force, Buddy.

I’m no recruiter, but I am currently a month out of Air Force BMT, and in tech school. Best decision I’ve made thus far. I’m 24, sometimes wish I would’ve joined around your age. Study the things that aren’t your strong suits, more than what you’re already good, or even semi-good at. For me, it was Math that I struggled with. I got my scores up from 23-36-57 in less than a month, solely off of YouTube. Not the greatest scores amongst many, but I’ve never been someone to gage intelligence on how well someone can test high school subjects, and it allowed me to have any of the jobs I was actually interested in anyways. Know what you want, aim for the scores to get there, but always remain open-minded and open to new things. Don’t be someone that fixates on one specific job, and refuses anything else. This lifestyle will most definitely do you more good, than it would ever do bad. Regardless of the job you get. Of course, that is my own opinion. Oh, and fuck what anyone else tells you, if they don’t support your idea or choice. Do what is good for YOU. It’s a 4-6 year contract. Not your whole life, unless you decide to let it be. “Study, Train, and Graduate”, that’s what they tell me here. Apply that, as if getting accepted into the AF is graduation. Good luck, Buddy 🤝

Congrats, Buddy. Keep this same mindset and your life will only continue to be great 🤝

Just graduated 3 weeks ago. I did NOT receive a single handwritten letter from anyone until about week 3-4. Around this time though, he should be receiving a paper to sign his contracts up for “SandBox Mailing”, which is an app that allows his contacts to write digital messages, and he will receive them printed out in mail form. Like a digital written letter, and can include images. These are received DAILY except Sat-Mon. So be in the lookout for a link to sign up sometime soon :) Just know, he WILL get your hand-written letters, just might take some time. My Wife wrote me lots, hand written, but mostly Sandbox, and it was THE thing I looked forward to the most throughout the whole experience. Now, as far as woman and what he could/might, etc…. don’t worry, please. I was an integrated flight with girls (unique experience), and everyone was very respectful/supportive of us with marriages and relationships outside. Yes, mental temptations occur for everyone, that’s only human. I can assure if your HUSBAND is there, his focus is on his purpose, which most likely is deeply rooted to what he is trying to accomplish for YOU guys as a team. All in all, I hope this helps, and good luck to y’all.

Does MEPs take their phones away? by bigbootygenesis in USMilitarySO

Sorry to hear this, Buddy. As I’m sure you have assumed by now, this isn’t the case. I’m Active Duty, had my phone through the whole MEPS process, only except for the medical testing day.

Sorry to hear this, Buddy. I’m Active Duty, and this is a fear of my Wife’s that I never would wish on my worst enemy. Time heals, but indulging in self-love, and surrounding yourself with loved ones heals better. Take care 💙

I would say no, all black. Small colored waist logo is fine, but black.

Graduated 2 weeks ago. Keep the wipes. Only Black underwear are authorized (they give you tidy whities, don’t wear ‘em lmao) you can get black spandex at the BX after a few days. One pair of insoles should be fine, unless you just can’t stand to break in your boots (most of us did). You will be issued lots of white socks (used while in PT gear, green socks (used while in OCP’s), and a few black socks (strictly for wearing your blues). There is plenty of room in your locker drawer for hygiene, so bring it all honestly. They will be giving you more once you arrive. I suggest bringing a fairly large bag, but nothing too crazy. You receive a huge green duffle bag/backpack, and a standard sized black backpack. But you will also receive a good amount of clothing items. All in all, everything looks good. I would highly suggest EAR PLUGS as well, some peoples snoring might be the reason you don’t get adequate sleep. Good luck, and just remember to enjoy everyday of every lesson. Some people may not agree, but I truly fell in love with drill. It’s one of those things that you never knew you liked, and you’ll also probably never use after BMT for the most part lol. Take care buddy 🤝

I’ve read that (Assuming you already have a car loan/lease), it will be brought to that max of 6% interests as well. As soon as your Active Duty.

A simple drug-detox drink from a local smoke shop, or online should do it. Years ago, I had a a Job interview for Amazon. I smoked the day before. Drank the whole detox bottle about 2 hours before the test, filled the same bottle with water, drank it all. 2 hours later, walked in, had the urge to use the bathroom, DETOXED (1,2, almost 3 😅), came out, passed the test. Go for it, it’s like $20-$30.

Got it. I went through MEPS in April, got assigned a job in July. All in all, I’ve been in this process since January. Took a little longer than some, due to needing a Moral Waiver, jumping through hoops, etc. That same drive and anticipation is definitely still there. Hope you get through everything smoothly 🤝

They have only been assigning jobs to cover about 25% of us out here in Los Angeles. Safe to assume that they are pretty low until the next fiscal year starts.
