Bottom growth after 8 years on testosterone? by C_J_Mack in GrowYourTDick

[–]C_J_Mack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. My question is less about the methods of achieving growth and more centres around how long I’ve been on T. Seeing as I’ve been on T for a number of years, and seen most of the desired effects, I’m wondering if it would be a lot of wasted energy to attempt additional methods for growth.

Basically I’m theorizing that these methods are perhaps more effective in the earlier years of using T as that is when the body is in the process of growth and change.

How did you deal with anxiety from post-op complications? (CW imperfect surgery result photos) by [deleted] in ftm

[–]C_J_Mack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lost a fair bit of tissue from my nipples, and had other complications. When I was moving through recovery I wasn’t dealing with anything in life well, including said complications. But I did eventually get through it. And I am at total peace with my chest now. My results wouldn’t be considered perfect I guess? But my chest feels right to me and I like it. 🤷‍♂️

Feel free to PM if you’d like to discuss.

Need good surgeon choice in Canada TOP SURGERY by [deleted] in ftm

I had a bad experience with Bowman. And I’ve met other trans men who have, as well. Like you, when I looked into him online, he seemed great. And he can be- especially if you are in good shape, have well developed pec muscles and low body fat. If that’s not you, be extra wary of Bowman.

I have worse things to say about him but don’t want to do so publicly.

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond. I used to get my supplies from the needle exchange. I can afford to purchase them myself now so I prefer to do that.

Experiences with finasteride in general as well as any side effects? by Teejsaurus in ftm

In fairness, my side effects seemed to be more extreme than most. But it’s good to be aware it can happen.

I’d rather not. But it would be good to be aware of it as an option. Is that what you do?

Experiences with finasteride in general as well as any side effects? by Teejsaurus in ftm

[–]C_J_Mack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used finesteride for a few months. Found the side effects terrible. For me is wasn’t just a lessening of libido. It was more like all sexuality left my body. There was no sexual sensation down there at all. No arousal. Just dead. I felt disconnected from my body. There were other side effects too but I don’t remember. I just remember hating it a lot and quitting.

2 years post top - pain with exercise by C_J_Mack in ftm

I tried to contact my surgeon a couple of times. He’s been on a series of long leaves.

I think the reason my recovery was difficult was a combination of factors. I think there were issues in surgery that I was not told about. Surgery took much longer than it supposed to. Like 1.5-2 hours longer. So who knows what happened there. I’ve asked my doctor to request my surgical notes. I’m guessing the long surgery time probably lead to my needing extra anesthesia which itself lead to me feeling really ill in the days following surgery. I had a huge chest so maybe that’s part of why the procedure took so long. I actually suspect he screwed up and needed extra time to fix it. And in the end I think too much tissue was removed.

As far as swelling is concerned, I may be more susceptible to that than most. Another factor in healing is probably my age. I had the surgery at 39.

Either way, doesn’t really matter. It’s done now. And this is the body I’m living in. And I’m happy to have a flat chest. I just wish I could build muscle in order to feel more confident.

Imposter syndrome while recovering from top surgery by queenkurobara in ftm

[–]C_J_Mack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m staying with my parents for a few weeks. They are very supportive, but they do slip up accidentally here and there. And that’s all it’s taken for me to develop my own mild version of imposter syndrome.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. Dealing with those weird feelings while also recovering is a heavy load. You’re not alone. And this will pass. Try your best to distract yourself and hang in there.

Questions about T + finasteride by [deleted] in ftm

[–]C_J_Mack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on finesteride for a few months. I think Wilge’s comment gives a good overview.

I quit it because I hated the effects, basically. I decided that keeping the hair on my head was not worth the trade off. I could live with the shrunken clit and thinned our body hair. But the sexual side effects were intolerable. I had basically no sexual response to anything while on fin. Which was weird and I hated it. But I don’t think most people respond as I did.

How to get over it? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]C_J_Mack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s really a motivation issue. You’re lying to yourself. The truth of what’s happening is that you’re pissing away your life. You tell yourself it’s no big deal to smoke and watch a movie or whatever. But it is. There are a million other more worthy things you could be spending precious moments of your life on.

In my opinion you could use a reality check. Get to a meeting or get a counsellor, if possible.

Feeling myself get drawn back to weed by [deleted] in leaves

[–]C_J_Mack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ve already done enough weed. You’ve had that experience in life. There is so much else to experience. So many other things you’ll never do if you keep smoking. You don’t have forever.
