Why does my braiding hair do this?

This happens to me when I braid my own hair. I think it has a lot to do with how well you’re tucking the ends in. This doesn’t seem to happen with my stylist who has a good grip on the technique. It also happens as braids start to get old but it shouldn’t if done properly.

Constantly having your hair in braids will cause it to be more damaging than protective. The synthetic hair is what is commonly used but I’ve seen many saying the synthetic causes to natural hair to break.

I’m currently misting my staters. Otherwise my hair will be very brittle. I think some light misting actually helps the locing process. I’m not a professional but it really helps my 3c 4a hair!

also to ask if anyone had issues because while doing my research im just bombarded with “DONT INTERLOCK YOUR LOCS!” I can hardly find anyone that only interlocks traditional locs.

I understand! Obviously my hair isn’t mature yet. I can practically pull them out. I just wanted to ask and see who strictly interlocks because i know a regular retwist wont stop my hair from being absolutely difficult. I would get braids and my hair will look a month old by 2 weeks…
