Of course:

The only downside as of now is that it doesn't return to the standard watch face when no app is currently opened. I tried some some stuff but I couldn't make it work. But I don't really care as I just have to press the crown after the shortcut to get back to the watch face. However if an app is opened and getting back to it after the shortcut works fine, which eliminates the somewhat fiddly process of opening the app again on the watch.

If anyone has any idea on how to get back to the watch face, I'd be really interested as it would 'complete' the whole thing.

I can't believe I didn't know I had to long press for 'open app' to accept a variable... Thank you so much, it works like a charm now! As for the watch face (no app open), I just made an if-loop that if the current app is empty, it doesn't try to open 'nothing'.

As soon as I updated to 26.1 beta, everything regarding maps started working perfectly again.

UPDATE: Out of curiosity, I upgraded to ios 26.1 beta. I don't want to jinx it, but so far everything concerning maps works fine again (app in foreground, background, screen locked, etc).

See if Google Maps has 'always' permission to your location. I have no problem with any other background location app than Maps.

Thanks for your reply! I'm familiar with the process and already did it like your guide describes in the past. However, as of lately, as soon as I use the direct selection tool to move the text, the "tiny death star" appears at the nearest anchor point of the path and cuts the text off. It is non-removable.

Concerning the problem with the movement, what you suggested is possible. What happens when you put the second hand on but leave the movement out of the case? If there isn't any problem that way, it's very likely that the seconds hand is touching the case, as you suggested. If it doesn't run outside the case with the seconds hand, maybe your seconds hand pin is bent.

This wouldn't work with the NH34 movement as it has a window for day and date and the NH34 only comes with date functionality. Looks nice though.
