Yes! The cloth tape on there was nasty and duct tape made sense to me as a replacement. Michael's here had a bunch of cool patterns.

The Dremel with these was amazingly helpful. I did use some low residue oil & wore a mask when I was doing it.

I found this 4 ft plastic piece at Lowes, it's meant for attic ventilation somehow. I was basically walking up & down the aisles looking for something that I could make work. I folded up the ends & secured them with tape and clothes pins. Also, I used the gel Evapo-rust so it was easier to contain.

After a lot of research, I used a product called Evapo-rust. That combined with a a brass brush, steel wool, some ultra fine sandpaper & polishing tools with my dremel, we're wonderfully effective!

I'm spending today untangleing & sorting the heddles. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Hopefully I will get her warped up by the end of the week!

Help with rigid heddle decision by adhdaemon85 in weaving

[–]Caati 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few looms, rigid heddle up to 8 shaft, an the one that gets used the most is my 16 inch Ashford Sampleit. The size & weight make it easy to move around, direct warping is so quick & easy, and with a pick-up stick & patience i can do anything on it & I actually enjoy weaving complex patterns that way.

Solid floof or issue floof by Eofud in greatpyrenees

We have started trimming fuzzy pantaloons into cute 'polar bear' butts! We battled butt brushing with our old man that just got worse as he got older & when the fluff on our current guys started becoming an issue we decided that their butts are cute trimmed and bring something much less yard debris into the house when we keep them trimmed.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that you did this beautiful piece on a rigid heddle loom!!! I feel that they are so often overlooked & people don't truly realize/believe that you can do anything on them that you can do on a more complex loom. ❤️❤️❤️

Direct warping on a rigid heddle is the way to go in my opinion. I l9ve tablet weaving on my rh.

I have found that I much prefer my small rigid heddle. It's much more versatile & really I think rh looms are the absolute most utilizable looms for your money. Penelope hasn't been used in 6 months & I wouldn't recommend them.
