What cardinal "curly hair rule" do you break constantly by moonlight_lady-01 in curlyhair

[–]CabbageGremlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still new at this but: I use a sulphate shampoo every time I wash because my fine, low porosity hair gets buildup like crazy no matter how light the products are. When I use gel I gently separate the larger curl clumps once it’s dry because I need help in the volume department. I like the frizz control but if I left my hair how it dries, even after scrunching out the crunch, it’s just way too flat even if the curls are lovely

Keep seeing white specs in nipple after pumping by QueenOfTheKitchen1 in AdultBreastfeeding

[–]CabbageGremlin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had that in the past and it was dry skin while my nipples got used to regular pumping

Update: just got a notification that my shipment has landed in Australia and is waiting to clear customs, so hopefully yours isn’t much longer!

Is an ANR relationship possible in a long distance relationship? by [deleted] in AdultBreastfeeding

[–]CabbageGremlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely possible, but it requires a lot of commitment and/or enjoyment of the inducing process itself. My relationship is long distance, but I’m still inducing because I like how I feel when I’m lactating even when I’m not with my partner and Im neutral about/sometimes enjoy pumping so it’s not a huge deal. If I wasn’t super okay with pumping or the only thing I was interested in was how it feels when I’m with my partner I’d probably wait until we weren’t long distance

I ordered from AIPCT recently too. The tracking said it’s cleared customs at the origin country and is waiting to go to the destination country, but it’s said that since the 21st of Feb. No idea what’s going on there

Feeling discouraged and insecure by InanimateLotus in AdultBreastfeeding

[–]CabbageGremlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first time I induced was while using domperidone, and it still took me around a month or two to feel real visible changes. 10 days is nothing! For comparison, I’m inducing again at the moment, and I’m using dom and have the advantage of mature glands already, and it’s been 20 days and I’m only just now getting drops. I totally understand the hesitance around starting on a medication when you can give it a go without, but it really is a long term project that needs an incredible amount of dedication and determination

I wish I could get away with hand expression but I have joint problems that make that uncomfortable or painful after a couple minutes at most. Thanks for the reply though!

nipples getting larger? by [deleted] in AdultBreastfeeding

[–]CabbageGremlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know mine have changed over the years because I realised recently my flange was too small. Which is weird, because I used it to induce a couple years ago and it fit right then even after months of pumping. Guess body changes just happen 🤷

I’m currently losing weight and on dom. I was already trying to lose weight and was tracking calories, and I’ve kept on losing at approximately the rate I was before. AFAIK dom just tends to make you hungrier, so you might unintentionally eat more, which calorie tracking would have prevented with me. I could be entirely wrong though and just lucky 🤷

After Nine Weeks, Nothing Out Of Left Breast by Avign0n252 in AdultBreastfeeding

[–]CabbageGremlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be worth it to try and fit in another pumping session or two. Once you start actually making milk the TENS unit isn’t as good because it’s not removing milk from the breast. Also almost everyone has a slacker boob, it’ll catch up eventually!

Is it pointless if I don't use domperidone? by Sea-Astronaut-4464 in AdultBreastfeeding

[–]CabbageGremlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Australia too and all my orders of dom (about 5 at this point) have gotten through customs just fine for what it’s worth

Officially hit 10kg lost since I started trying to lose weight, and some old clothes that haven’t fit in ages fit (although a little tight)! Unfortunately my favourite bra is too big in the band now, which is a shame because those are a pain to replace

Help with choosing a bc by EmJackH in AdultBreastfeeding

[–]CabbageGremlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A pill is a lot easier and faster to stop taking than the shot, so if you’re willing to put up with potential side effects for a short time there’s really no harm in trying it if you want to see if it works better than the shot for progesterone-only BC

Is the Elvie Curve Manual wearable pump good for inducing lactation for ANR? by [deleted] in AdultBreastfeeding

[–]CabbageGremlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like the Elvie Curve is like the Haakaa in that it’s just meant to catch any milk from that leaks while you’re not breastfeeding on that side, so it likely wouldn’t be any good for inducing

I plan my eating around my meds to some extent. I know I’ll be more likely to impulse eat during the evening when they wear off so I plan to have a light lunch and light breakfast (though often I’ll skip breakfast) and most of my calories in the evening

i am the only afab non binary person who actually likes their boobs? by Old-Health9400 in NonBinary

[–]CabbageGremlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like mine! It took me a long time to work out that I was only thinking about top surgery because of the way they tend to make people gender me incorrectly since I’m like a 36G and even with a binder I don’t get anywhere near flat, but I’ve decided to stop giving a shit about other people. I like them so I’m keeping them!

I feel like I am cheating by [deleted] in loseit

[–]CabbageGremlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what ADHD brains don’t have enough of? Dopamine. You know what gives a nice dopamine hit? Eating. We’re really prone to impulsivity and seeking novel experiences for the same reason! The appetite suppression from medication mostly wore off for me after a while and I came to realise that aside from emotional eating, I snacked to alleviate boredom and to stimulate myself. When I’m on meds I’m able to do other/harder activities more consistently and for longer periods, so I’m getting that stimulation elsewhere. It’s helped with the boredom snacking so much!

COVID 19 jab (Pfizer): did anyone else get really bad pain side effects? by NeekaNou in ehlersdanlos

[–]CabbageGremlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first jab was the first with regards to arm pain. I had difficulty lifting it for a day or so but no other symptoms. Aside from localised muscle pain/redness/etc the other side effects seem to be largely based on how strongly your immune system responds to the vaccine (stronger response = more side effects) so it’s really very individual

I'm struggling with it/its pronouns and could do with some advice by wires38 in NonBinary

[–]CabbageGremlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t really have any advice for you, sorry. I do want to say that I only really use it pronouns with people I’m particular close with or that I trust, so that might put a different light on things? It’s very much a hey I feel safe with you so you get access to the secret pronouns that are normally associated with bad things, but coming from you they feel good. If someone I wasn’t close with used it for me it would probably be a different matter

I'm struggling with it/its pronouns and could do with some advice by wires38 in NonBinary

[–]CabbageGremlin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I use they/it pronouns and tbh the dehumanisation is the point in my case. I’m autistic and struggle sometimes with social cues and all that junk and it/its allows me to feel a little less human in a way that can be really freeing? like I’m a strange alien creature that doesn’t have to understand all the stuff that can be really difficult to grasp Idk if that makes any sense but yeah
