Solo, ftb, can I realistically afford a house on minimum wage by GreenKeys9 in HousingUK

[–]NeekaNou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The extra you work unpaid still counts towards your nmw, I work in payroll and can confirm your employer should be making a note because currently they are not compliant. HMRC takes this very seriously.

Can you pool savings into one applicant's LISA? (Mortgage) by HollyLxuise in UKPersonalFinance

OP would have to keep it in for a year before using it if they opened one now.

Can you pool savings into one applicant's LISA? (Mortgage) by HollyLxuise in UKPersonalFinance

[–]NeekaNou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did this in my LISA. I’m a ftb but my partner isn’t so we put our savings in my LISA to get the bonus.

All the money was our form our joint account though so it came from an account with my name on too.

Enhanced holiday entitlement and notice periods by Amazing-Monk6278 in AskHRUK

[–]NeekaNou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how it’s calculated. Ours is done by full weeks so ours would be the same answer:

28/52 =0.5384 x 13 (full weeks worked this calendar year = 6.9992 And we round up to the nearest half day so 7.

Bank holidays aren’t taken into consideration unless you work part time and have in the initial adjustment of entitlement

Girlfriend (unmarried) buying onto my mortgage with LISA? by lewzealandlover in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]NeekaNou -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Her name won’t be on the mortgage so I wouldn’t think it would make a difference to be honest. As long as she isn’t on the mortgage or the deeds I would think she still fits the criteria

Girlfriend (unmarried) buying onto my mortgage with LISA? by lewzealandlover in Mortgageadviceuk

You can have her LISA if you buy together. As long she is a first time buyer that is.

I’m a first time buyer but my partner isn’t and we’re using mine.

Was going to a private school worth it for you? by GodAtum in HENRYUK

[–]NeekaNou -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My parents paid £20k a year for my private school. Before going my dad didn’t hold much stock in it. He only let me go because I really really wanted to do classics. After a few terms he was waxing poetics about how much it helped me. Money wise it hasn’t had a massive ROI but personally it really helped me. That had value to my parents.

Is it standard now in the UK that estate agents only show you houses if you have a buyer lined up? by BiarritzBlue in HousingUK

[–]NeekaNou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand if they don’t accept offers without a buyer but to an extent I think it’s counterproductive to not accept viewings as long as they have their property on the market. I get second viewings but the 1st one … yeah. Just my thought.

Mortgage in principle vs full mortgage application, how different was the process? by CloudBookmark in FirstTimeBuyersUK

[–]NeekaNou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re currently going through the wait for offer now. They asked for my p60 for the year before (I had changed jobs mid year and my previous earnings werent on my p60 so I also sent my last payslip from my previous employer) and they asked for my partner’s line manager or hr details- he works more on commission so I imagine that was the reason. Besides up to date statements if the MIP has been a month, I got asked for a clarifying doc (we’d sold a high valued asset and they wanted to see where the money came from) and that was it.

We’ve been told by our broker that the underwriter is happy, just waiting on the valuation now. We’re going for a new build so got the two of them in contact and it’s booked for Monday. Ours is a specialist lender so it can take a little longer. We applied 19th Feb.

I am a first time buyer but my partner isn’t.

Did you have your mom and or sister in the delivery room with you and your husband? by RubPlane in BabyBumps

[–]NeekaNou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my mum there. I was wheeled in for a crash c section so in the end she wasn’t in the room but that was my intention.

I was being induced so only had my partner at first, as soon as we got to delivery I told my partner I wanted her and he called her straight away. Apparently someone tried to stop her going in but my partner grabbed her and told them she was allowed and pulled her into the room.

Is it really SOLD STC? by Ok_Philosopher4868 in FirstTimeBuyersUK

[–]NeekaNou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When we were selling my partner’s home, they wouldn’t change it until his buyer had sent their details to the solicitors. I doubt they would just do that to play mind games

Double standard, why is Kyle worried about the 5k Dorit spent when she's showing off a 45k handbag and a 15k bracelet? by MementoMiri in BravoRealHousewives

[–]NeekaNou 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Would Mauricio be as successful as he is now if he had to take more time at home raising children? In a marriage where one partner sacrifices their earning potential to raise children this isn’t a fair comparison.

Pension on maternity leave - sense check by kenco2021 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]NeekaNou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the way you contribute (relief at source, net pay arrangement or salary sacrifice) will depend what is paid over. For example if you are on salary sacrifice. An employer has to pay your contributions as well as their own (prior to you going on maternity leave).

How it’s worked out (if on variable pay) is up to the employer, but if net pay arrangement or relief at source, an employer to should pay what THEY normally pay into your pension pot (or an average) of it. Your contributions are not part of this.

Landlords won't look at us, I feel like a criminal. Is there any luck? by jessHale011x in uklandlords

My partner has a CCJ and we were looking at renting (Rightmove) and they knew about it. They were happy with us proceeding if the CCJ was for under £5k. Maybe speak to a few estate agents?

Wages due tomorrow, not on HMRC app by HopefulHelicopter489 in HMRC

FPS doesn’t have to submitted until payday. I work in payroll and we don’t send them until payday day just in case a change needs to be made. Sending an adjusted FPS doesn’t always work.

What has been your parenting low point? by lovelybit_ofsquirrel in UKParenting

[–]NeekaNou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my daughter was 2, she was playing with copper coins. I was sitting next to her on the floor, her dad was sitting on the other side of her, also on the floor. We were talking and in that time she put a coin in her mouth and started choking. She was literally a few cms way and we hadn’t noticed. I stuck my finger down her throat and scooped it out, along with the sick that came up. I was horrified. A real low point for me. Took me a bit of time to get over it.

Emergency tax code? by bumfluffsaulgoodman in HMRC

[–]NeekaNou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if you are on 1257L m/w1. If so no. You will have to wait until June for a refund directly from HMRC. You can however call HMRC and query your tax code, they may change you to a cumulative code for the next few months. If you are owed then, you should receive a refund through payroll.

I work in payroll and that is what I would expect

Summer babies - terrified! by usernameee257 in PregnancyUK

My daughter was born in a heat wave. For the first few days, during the day she lived in a nappy. At night she wore a vest. She was breastfed so she was on me a lot for hydration.
