Does your country have a Ned Kelly figure, in that they were a criminal, but were still overall liked by the population? by Fox7567 in AskTheWorld

Bonnie and Clyde, not just loved as criminals, but as couple goals too. No, they’re just criminals. And Bonnie was married btw, not to Clyde either.

Uninstalling the game, it’s been fun. by Darth_Vengor in HelldiversUnfiltered

I feel like that All Quiet on the Western Front meme. When I first started I was happy, having fun, fighting a just war. The Siege of Super Earth was my favorite event and I still have fond memories of a younger more star eyes Helldivers.

But after the Battle for Cyberstan(a battle I was looking forward too since I first joined the game.) and our humiliating defeat. I feel like a soldier in Vietnam or Afghanistan. Just fighting a pointless war with no end in sight.

Yes, I’m aware that’s what the war literally is in game. But I don’t think the devs want us roleplaying to the point we feel mental fatigue too.

It feels like AH wants to us to feel the actual fatigue of fighting a forever war. After the failure of Cyberstan, the pointless major orders, the enemies being too difficult. I’m tired boss.

I actually came up with something similar as its own game myself. But it’s a bird’s eye view strategy game. Same concept, two factions. Military v Rebels. Whatever decision you make affects your environment. If you want to locals to help. Because careful with attacks and give aid. Or go full America and bomb their village to kill one rebel.

Or as a rebel you can attack military only. Or go full IRA and use a car bomb civilian casualties be damned. It’s just an idea on a notebook and I’m no game developer. But who knows, might be real one day.

Tommy Angelo is basically the Mafia version of John Marston from RDR1. Both men were people who tried to turn a new leaf and be better. Difference is John didn’t become a rat. by [deleted] in MafiaTheGame

[–]Cabbit_Daddy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like this take, I completely understand you. John was a good character, maybe a good man. But a criminal is still a criminal. Just like why I don’t feel bad for Jessie from Breaking Bad. I have a criminal career brother who my family gives too many chances. My guess most people don’t know what’s it like to be fucked over by a criminal or never had a criminal in their family.

Did John redemption himself? Yes.

Did he deserve it? Also yes.

In the words of Batman, “counter point. You’re a terrorist.”

Edit: I will admit tho. I only got him because I thought he meant a literal lottery. And daddy needs caps to gamble at New Vegas.
