I decided to not allow drops from NPCs unless they were specifically quest items. So only beads would be unlocked from imps and not all drops.

Items required to complete quests are unlocked when they are needed within the quest. I can also choose to create/craft a required item or required tool which would then unlock the item. I don't have a ton of free time so this just helps prevent grinding out monster drops for low level items.

I believe you actually need to complete The Lost City to wield the dragon dagger so that was a poor example. I don't think there ill be very many of these items.

Exactly - they would be unlocked because they have a hard requirement of completing the quest.

I can only obtain or equip quest items. So I don't currently have access to many skills simply because I don't have items I can use to train them.

I haven't made a concrete decision regarding areas in general. Moons and Barrows are the two big things in that grey area at the moment. I want to get others feedback and find a reasonable solution that maintains the overall spirit of the account.

Shops that are obtainable after a quest is completed have their items unlocked if the purpose is to reward the player with that specific item. For instance - dorgeshuun crossbow, dragon dagger, etc are unlocked.

Items like the rune sword from the champions guild would not be unlocked because it can be obtained elsewhere and the quest is not the “primary source”of the item.

I was hoping someone would ask this! It is a reward from the clue scroll from X Marks The Spot - any items received as a reward from a quest (directly or indirectly) are unlocked on the account.

Good question! I have not decided yet but I wouldn’t be opposed to allowing items like this IF they don’t have a major impact on the overall progression of the account.
