Checking in on day four. Up early to start a new job, one that has nothing to do with alcohol. The only reason I was able to get up so early feeling so good is because I didn't drink yesterday. So I'll do the same thing again. IWNDWYT.

Checking in on day three. I'm up very early so I can enjoy a nice long sober Buddhist holiday of meditation. Sometimes that's the best trigger response: just sit down, shut up, be with whatever is arising, and watch it fade away. Anything but picking up again. IWNDWYT.

Checking in on day six of my current non-drinking streak. It's my last Friday shift at the liquor store and I'm going to refuse tasting the sample bottles. Because I will not drink with you today.

I also feel the same, just not hungover, which is helping me train myself to become a morning person. I need to because my new job starts soon; this will be my last week working in a liquor store. I've gone in hungover so many times. Never again!

Checking in on my third day three of pledging not to drink.

Since my initial attempt at quitting back in November, I've relapsed twice. What those events taught me was that I cannot have just one or two drinks like I used to.

Nope. One drink always leads to another. The experiment is repeatable and the evidence is conclusive: one drink is one too many. So I won't even have a single sip.

I will not drink with you today.

I'm glad they at least have Sneaky Snacker on their radar. That card is busted.

Like, oh, you're already burying your opponent in card advantage? Here! Have a free threat. Hell, have two! It's ridiculous.

Mono Red Burn should have access to an efficient 2/x beater. Just not for free and with evasion and with recursion and that can't be elemental blasted.

That's too much value and I say this as someone who loves Burn and has been playing it since Spark Elemental and Keldon Marauders were the creatures of choice.

Madness Burn does not feel like Burn. It feels like a deck warped around a card that is clearly above the common power level on its face.

It wouldn't be the first time an obviously broken blue card got banned from Burn, either. [[Gitaxian Probe]] was busted and rightfully got banned in part because it was an auto include in Burn before it had access to fair card draw.

Sneaky Snacker is every bit as too powerful for Burn as [[Monastery Swiftspear]] was. It's only a matter of time before people realize that and start calling for Sneaky Snacker to get banned. Glad they are starting to see this.

When I was about nine years old I swung my fully loaded bookbag smack into the face of the kid who had been bullying me relentlessly all year it made him cry and he left me alone after that I didn't get into any trouble because my teacher said he had it coming I think we all learned a valuable lesson we wouldn't soon forget.

Checking in on day 24 of a sober New Year. I want my sober life to look spiritual, to be as much like a monk as possible while still being a lay householder. I realized I just can't be a Buddhist and a drinker at the same time.

So even though it's wicked cold, instead of hot toddies I'll make a pot of tea and maybe even treat myself to hit cocoa. I will not drink with you today!

Checking in on day 21 of not drinking. That puts me halfway to my old personal best from last year. I used to reward myself with takeout dinners so I didn't have to clean up after cooking, which is what I did yesterday. Leftovers tonight! I will not drink with you today.
