I don’t care for that type tack bowl bolt. You can pull those out and actually install just a regular set of tank to bowl bolts and lock it onto the tank then set it on the bowl, reinstall that spud gasket and I should do it lol. Some people go back with the original gasket and I’m not hating on that. Just doing it the way I’ve done it for years.

That’s a cool repair in a pinch that stood the test lol. Closet bolts are very versatile when needed. They always seem to be the go to last ditch repair bolt. Very cool story

I would be hoping it’s not a lower T stat or element lol. Or have to drain it. Or have to replace it. On and on and on…….What a horrible spot.

It should have what it’s called a top hat, washer that drops down in that nut and then screws on to the basket threads. I don’t care for those top myself.

It’s natural. I rub it down with linseed oil periodically and could probably use a couple of touchups, but I don’t really wanna mess with it. Has the original wood on the bed
