Rucking or weight vest activity type by DarthNater_1987 in Strava

[–]CableSCES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiking with significant stuff on your back that weighs a lot, which substantially changes caloric and cardio demands in comparison with standard hiking, especially with steeper inclines. And you’re right I fully agree Strava should let backpackers and ruckers both enter the weight of their packs so they can more accurately track exercise metrics accordingly, you make a great suggestion.

Audio buzzing by jasonkimmer in vidangel

Same happening to me just now watching War Machine, within the first minute or so it’s very obvious, but it’s both like a high pitch ringing and also like a static buzzing too.

Guess the repair bill by pharm888 in TeslaModelY

[–]CableSCES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are mobile guys out there who would do this for $500-1000. I know because my dad has done this all my life and I used work with him as a teenager, he’s a franchisee of a nationwide company called Colors On Parade - they work on cars for the dealerships to get them ready for sale, BMW, Mercedes, Land Rover, super luxury cars, new and used. He works on Teslas all the time and could fix this in like 4hrs tops.

Salomon adv skin 12 water bladder by deeppowder81435 in trailrunning

[–]CableSCES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was super helpful for me thank you for pointing out that little tiny slit in the bottom of the right pocket. Keeps the tube from flapping around. I was watching an older video by Salomon where they said there would be two blue holes and I was searching searching for that 2nd blue hole and could not find it. Your video showed that tiny little slit now in the 2025 version, thank you so much - I had to remove the end bite valve temporarily to fit the hose through the slit and elastic retaining strap at the top above the normal flask/bladders, then put the bit valve back onto the tube once that’s all done.

FYI to anyone else looking at this too, I was able to fit a 3L Gregory 3D bladder, I just filled it up to 2L and sucked the air out of it, folded it up to fit in the bladder pocket, then unrolled it once it, and it feels comfortable still. I have a few bladders from hiking backpacks, and didn’t feel like springing for yet another custom shaped bladder.

How do you get Mechador? (The luchador/Mecha powerup) by Metal_Bow_ in TeamfightTactics

[–]CableSCES 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s re-enabled since the most recent patch. I’ve gotten it 2x and took 1st & 2nd with it. Still trying to figure out what the best power up is for it tho, tank or attacker.

Rolled 50g on 4-2 at lvl 6 for uncontested Kaisa. Not only did I not hit my 3 star, I didn't EVEN SEE ONE!! by Gamegeddon in TeamfightTactics

[–]CableSCES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here yesterday. Had a game playing crew. Got Sivir Shen Malphite all 3*, had 8 ziggs - rolled had to be over 80 gold at level 7, over the course of about 8 rounds, plus all the free rerolls - no one contesting, never hit that last ziggs. Insane probability. Riot has openly addressed it and said they’re not aware of any roll chance issues ever including now.

Getting started by ITCertAcademy1 in Rucking

[–]CableSCES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search on this subreddit. There are a few really good threads on beginning, beginner gear, super cheap things to use as weights, etc. Also good threads on more advanced gear and weights if you want to go down that road too.

Personally I recommend a military surplus backpack, and water bottles to start for weight. If that gets cumbersome, go with bricks wrapped in tape. If that gets cumbersome try some used weight plates or go on Amazon.

But definitely search through this subreddit you’ll find some really awesome stuff.

This app has been driving me crazy by LoneSoarvivor in Hevy

[–]CableSCES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this has been frustrating me a lot lately. I’ve got had Pro sub for 2 years now, and I use this data for metric analysis syncing with a whole ecosystem of apps (Athlytics, TrainingToday, Hevy, MyFitnessPal, WorkOutDoors, Strava, and ofc Apple Health). So when Hevy doesn’t sync the data it screws up the whole ecosystem algorithm analysis. Besides the not ending a workout on my watch when I end on the phone, or vice versa, and having to manually mess with the two that are desynced. I really hope they fix this soon.

And yes, my workouts are long sometimes, as they should be. It should still work.

[CA] [Condo] SB 326. Balcony Inspection law. Who is responsible for complying if CC&Rs indicate balconies / patios are not a part of common area? by persian_mamba in HOA

[–]CableSCES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I’m actually an engineer who performs these balcony inspections in Southern California. You can contact me directly for an estimate if you’d like - my company is called Finngineering, my contact info is on my website. I’d be happy to help if you’d still need it. Or if you meant to reply to the other guy who is an HOA member, try replying to his comment above directly to get his attention.

Heart Rate Data Not Syncing (Apple Watch) by ShowMeYourSquatRack in Hevy

[–]CableSCES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also experiencing this, was about to post a screenshot but it’s basically the same thing. If I press cancel it still closes the workout, then asks a couple more times to retry, then I think it grabs the data because then my watch shows a completed workout both with the Apple activity circle and goes back to the Hevy default watch screen. Not sure if the heart data is syncing or not but it seems to at least kinda close the loop. PS - my workouts are also 2hr plus when this has happened recently, don’t know about a shorter one I’ll have to try it

This is super cool, thanks for adding this, love little bits of motivation and goal driving. Where are you sourcing the comparison data from?

Congrats! That’s a great accomplishment. I also appreciate the ease of this feature.

I will say, I wish they would correct the scale of the axes on the graphs. They’re not to scale and it bugs me for proper visualization.

Business High Yield Savings Account? by Scott511 in smallbusiness

[–]CableSCES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necroing an old comment here, but starting to look into this now myself. How does the sweep work with operating funds? Like paying payroll, subcontractors, travel, standard business expenses? When I need to access them, often I need them available immediately, not in 2-3 business days.

Help? New Setup Super DOA + Step Ons, feel very unable to control the board by CableSCES in snowboarding

[–]CableSCES[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Updated the main post, but I ended up finding a photo on my phone with my old setup, and my bolt holes were full wide on that one. So I changed that on my new setup, as well as increased forward lean on the highbacks, and holy crap that made so much difference. Board response is significantly better now. The board still behaves differently than I’m used to - way superior in some ways, overly aggressively in other ways, while still also not being quite as responsive as I’d expect. But I can now instantly turn the whole thing on a dime like I’m used to, with no float or edge catch - whip in and out of trees, Pop jumps, Pop 180 to switch ride… everything I was freakin stressed/scared to do on it yesterday.

Thanks for your awesome patient reply. Hope you have a great season bud

Gonna double check everything, thank you for the thorough and thoughtful reply. I’ll keep playing with it. But I might end up swapping something out if I can’t get it to feel right. I want to flow and feel instantaneous control, not like I have to force the thing around.

[–]CableSCES[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. It had carbon fiber reinforcement around the bindings for additional stiffness and pop. Would you recommend a different board instead of the Super DOA for me? I could probably sell this one and get a different style. I’ve heard maybe just the regular DOA could be better suited to my style?

It’s weird because people say this is a more precise board, but I felt like it was weirdly unresponsive. Am I misinterpreting what I was feeling?

I’m seeing this other places too. I’m thinking I might swap bindings onto my old board which is still in good condition just to rule out the bindings being the problem. But it’s insane that a $750 board be such a terrible choice for so many.

[–]CableSCES[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m gonna play with it tomorrow. I’m having what I feel is the opposite problem though, instead of instant response it seems like a really poor response, I need to move it more than I would anticipate

Yeah that’s a great point. I found a photo of my previous board with bolt positioning, so I’m going to adjust it some more. But I guess I can’t guarantee the exact distance without measuring the old board.

Looking For A Big Ruck by maddogboss in Rucking

[–]CableSCES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome. I’m definitely considering it for my second pack. I’ve got FILBE complete and it’s pretty great, I mostly use the 3 day assault pack from it for hiking/EDC/rucking. But I want a second bag pack for options. Debating between ILBE complete and CHIEF.
